Julie sarah or Aisling??

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Jadviga · 03/02/2023 00:34

I like Aisling. It feels epic. Julie is very commonplace in comparison.

Prefer Julia and Juliet

Was just about to type this.----

Whatdayisitalexa · 02/02/2023 21:27

Said with a French accent...gorgeous 'shuullie'

LibbyL92 · 02/02/2023 21:26

It’s going to be my future little girls middle name. After my mum.

Luredbyapomegranate · 02/02/2023 21:24

I think Julie is due a come back, but it might be a wee bit early. It also might not really stand out again all the Juliets and Julias around.

Sarah and Aisling both nice, although I do prefer Aislinn

It's of an era of names that is due a comeback, it's a nice name, I anticipate it being fashionable and popular again in a few years so yes, get ahead of the curve!
People are sentimental, hence why over the past ten years the 'granny' names have been so popular, well granny Edith/Nora/Betty etc. as the next age bracket have kids will make way for new granny names like Barbara, Julie, Dawn etc.

beetlebrain · 02/02/2023 21:12

As a 59 year old Julie I say go for it! You'll be ahead of the curve. I was expecting to see a tribe of little Julies in 15 years but why not now?

caringcarer · 02/02/2023 21:11

Nothing wrong with Julie. Quite a pretty name.

frymeariverpls · 02/02/2023 21:10

I'm not keen on Julie but I love Juliet

SalviaOfficinalis · 02/02/2023 21:06

Also prefer Julia - I think it might be due a revival.
Perhaps another 10 years before we’re ready for Julie.

Sandysandwich · 02/02/2023 21:04

Julie makes me think of Juul like the vape
Aisling is nice

mumonherphone · 02/02/2023 21:01

Aisling if you have Irish connections, if not then Sarah. Or more modern Zara.
Julie seems a very dated, unusual choice.

antipodeancanary · 02/02/2023 20:57

Julie is great. Way too many Julia's and juliets.

Outfor150 · 02/02/2023 20:54

I really like Julie as a name. I know a young -early 20s -Julianne, but she goes by Julie in preference. It’s very refreshing.

proudmummyof1 · 02/02/2023 20:54

As a 50 something Julie I say don’t do it….nobody actually calls me by my name, I’ve been called Jules for years. There are so many prettier names out there, it’s not old enough to have come back into fashion yet!

SpinningFloppa · 02/02/2023 20:50

Julie is a bit of an old lady name, Julia or Juliet would be nicer

KirstenBlest · 02/02/2023 20:50

I think Julie is a pretty name, especially in a french accent, but don't know any young ones, but the same goes for Julia. I don't know an Juliets but know a Juliette and people tend to call her Julie. She's in the Julie age group FWIW.

Cats2023 · 02/02/2023 20:50

Dated, sorry. Makes me think of a 45 year old librarian. Not that there's anything wrong with 45 year olds or librarians! But baby Julie or 10 year old Julie. Julia is a bit better in my opinion. Prettier.

JammiDodgers · 02/02/2023 20:49

Nah .. makes me think of Ali G and “ me Julie”

Julia is better. Marginally.

None of them to be honest. There are far better names out there.

Sh4rkAttack · 02/02/2023 20:49

Dated. And awful even when it was in fashion.

Coffeellama · 02/02/2023 20:47

Julie is terrible sorry

Viviennemary · 02/02/2023 20:47

I agree totally dated. Every Julie is in their 50s or 60s.

Hohofortherobbers · 02/02/2023 20:45

Prefer Julia and Juliet

kitcat15 · 02/02/2023 20:45

Julia….but not Julie….just no
