I'm of the Julie generation, there were lots at school and I still have a Julie friend.

It was on my shortlist about 25 years ago but fits awkwardly with our surname.

Julie is a lovely name. It sounds happy and light. Much prefer it to the more dreary sounding Julia or Juliet. I'm not a fan of Aisling though I don't hate it.

I’m a Julie and I love my name - I’m in my 30s. I don’t meet that many people with this name, but it is a well known and international name.

Funny that PP are saying it’s an old lady name, I’m from France and I know lots of Julies my age (at one point at school we were 3 Julies in the same class) however I don’t know any older ones. Different countries, different name trends I guess!

I had good friends at primary and secondary school called Julie (I was born in the 60s).

It’s a nice name well overdue a comeback!

Well I'm biased because my mother was a Julie and I like it (actually she was a Julia but everyone called her Julie. Or Jules).

Strangely, I’ve just been watching the famous play Miss Julie. It’s 19th century and the title character is an aristocrat. It has posh but unconventional vibes there.

Exactly, take silly age prejudice out of the equation (and Ali G who is old hat and not relevent) it's a pretty name..Jules is a potential nickname for Juliette Julianna Julia or Julie, the person with the name decides what they answer to

Nobody calls me Julie. Most people call me a shortened version of my surname. But that bloody Ali G soon is still the bane of my life.
