Yay or nay?

What associations do you have with the name? Do you like it, are indifferent or loath it?

I kind of love it but wonder if it's too bohemian for us.

It's ok. Not unpleasant. Makes me think of the shop, but that's not a bad thing

KangarooKenny · 02/02/2023 12:16

No, because I think of the shop

Snugglemonkey · 02/02/2023 12:02

I like it

Roseyposeypudding · 02/02/2023 12:00

Love it, but agree it’s not at all bohemian!

HollyGolightly4 · 02/02/2023 10:24

It's a lovely name. To me, it connotes intelligence and kindness.

IVFbeenverylucky · 02/02/2023 10:19

It's my DDs name. I love the "Z" as an initial too, and as pp have said everyone can spell and pronounce it but you don't come across to many. I think it is a bit bohemian - but only because Z is exotic as a letter - but I like that. It's common in many cultures/languages, especially Muslim ones (although they usually put an h at the end, which I don't think looks as nice). Originally it's a Hebrew variant of the biblical Sarah, so quite boring really!

CharitySchmarity · 30/01/2023 22:59

Not really my thing but I don't dislike it and have met a couple of quite nice ones.

faultythighs · 30/01/2023 22:57

I love this name and it's a name I would call my baby if I ever have a girl!

DramaAlpaca · 30/01/2023 22:47

I love it

SatInMySpottyOnesie · 30/01/2023 22:44

Yes, it’s lovely
… nice to see someone asking about a normal name for a change; not trying to be “different” 🥴

Pieceofpurplesky · 30/01/2023 22:41

Lovely. As is Zena, Zoe and Zofia

CookieDoughKid · 30/01/2023 22:37

My daughter is called Zara. Its a well known name in some ethnic cultures too. We don't come across Zaras too often which is nice!!

StopFeckingFaffing · 30/01/2023 22:34

Yay from me and I agree that Z is a cool initial

I don't consider it bohemian but it feels fresh compared to Olivia, Emily, Evie, Isla etc and it isn't associated with any particular era so doesn't sound dated

Viviennemary · 30/01/2023 22:33

I don't like it.

Hohofortherobbers · 30/01/2023 22:33

It has quite a harsh sound to me. I prefer Sara

Benjispruce4 · 30/01/2023 22:32

I like it.

Jomummy1013 · 30/01/2023 22:31

Not for me but I know someone with a daughter called it. She spells is it Zarah?

UsingChangeofName · 30/01/2023 22:29

I like it.
Simple for everyone to pronounce, even if never heard it before. Simple to spell. Unusual enough for there not to be loads in every class but 'known' enough for people not to say "What did you say" every time you have to give your name, or "I've not herd that name before where is it from?" etc etc.

Twoinapod · 30/01/2023 22:24

It seems dated to me, I know of a few all in their 30s, similar vibes to Claire, Louise, Rachel etc

Luredbyapomegranate · 30/01/2023 22:17

It’s alright.

It’s pretty popular - mainstream, not bohemian. And before that I mostly associated it with Prin Anne’s daughter, so more sloany pony

Bournetilly · 30/01/2023 19:08

Nay

MrsMop1964 · 30/01/2023 19:06

I like it (but I'll admit I thought of the shop first)

Twizbe · 30/01/2023 18:59

Love it. I had a lecturer at uni called Zarah and she was super cool.

SmileWithADimple · 30/01/2023 18:58

I like it. I also like Zoe (as you like Z names).

Rauha · 30/01/2023 18:58

It's nice
