Nice and classic or boring and dated?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I like it a lot.

AnotherSpare · 27/01/2023 10:34

I love the name Caroline! I think Carrie is a sweet nickname for a child but I've always thought Caro sounds very classy and glamorous so that works better when she grows up.

Toottooot · 27/01/2023 10:29

Cazza.

balloontrip · 27/01/2023 10:26

If by nickname you mean 'known as' then just call her Carrie.

Unicorn2022 · 27/01/2023 10:14

It's a classic, I really like it

LightHousePanda · 27/01/2023 10:13

It's a classic name but I know a few in their 40s so it still seems like it needs some time to come around again. That said I don't think it's as tied to a decade as some other names so could work.

glasshole · 27/01/2023 09:54

I know two, i went to school with a carline and a carolyn and both nicknames are caz . Pepe are right about the ages, we are 43!

Johnnysgirl · 27/01/2023 09:53

I like Carrie.

FayCarew · 27/01/2023 09:52

Lovely.

Marcipex · 27/01/2023 09:50

@JaninaDuszejko I didn’t like that very much either.

Anyway I like Caroline and all the ones I have ever known are lovely people.

Snugglemonkey · 27/01/2023 09:37

My daughter's middle name is Caroline and I love it.

I love Caro as a nn.

JaninaDuszejko · 27/01/2023 09:37

Maybe I don’t like Carrie because of that dreadful film.

Think of Carrie's War instead.

VariationsonaTheme · 27/01/2023 09:34

I’ve always loved it, it’s definitely due a revival.

Marcipex · 27/01/2023 09:33

Maybe I don’t like Carrie because of that dreadful film.

AcrobaticCardigan · 27/01/2023 09:28

I do love Caro as a nn though! But would a child of this generation be happy to be called Caroline? Probably not.

NoSquirrels · 27/01/2023 09:26

Love it.

AcrobaticCardigan · 27/01/2023 09:26

It’s boring & a bit 80s! I absolutely wouldn’t.

LydiaBin · 27/01/2023 09:26

I'm a mid-70s baby and there were four Carolines in my class at school - I think it's due a comeback. And a nice historical marker for a baby born in a coronation year?

Marcipex · 27/01/2023 09:25

I love Caroline and Caro.
I really don’t like Carrie but I don’t know why

Twoinapod · 27/01/2023 09:24

I think it’s dated and definitely not due a revival yet. The ones I know of are 40s-60s. It’s a similar feel as Jane, Margaret or Deborah.

carrie isn’t too bad

Fivebeanchilli · 27/01/2023 09:03

I love Caroline which I think is an underused classic.
I don't like Carrie though which feels a bit dated and dull.
Caro is a great nn.

PAFMO · 27/01/2023 09:02

Definitely a classic.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 27/01/2023 09:00

Beautiful.

MichaelAndEagle · 27/01/2023 08:59

Nice. I like it.

Luredbyapomegranate · 27/01/2023 08:57

I think it’s a classic

Although prefer Caro or Callie as a nn
