L middle name for Delilah

Basically that. After we’d chosen Delilah DH mentioned he would like baby to have the same initials as his mum as one of our other children has my mums name.

I’m drawing a blank, Delilah is already quite L heavy so think it needs to be a shorter name. Any suggestions?

My top contender was Loveday but DH not keen

Delilah Liberty (although I think Delilah Loveday is wonderful!)

I don’t think any L middle name would go with Delilah personally.

If the baby will share a surname with MIL then they’ve already got a shared name. I’d push back on the shared initials personally.

I like Lennox!

Delilah Lorelie
Delilah Lavender
Delilah Lark

Or Leni? Bit of nod to Lennox then too

sillysocks22 · 26/01/2023 15:26

I actually quite like Delilah Lennox, think it sounds beyond cool 😎

ter19 · 26/01/2023 15:07

I agree with Delilah Laine and Delilah Lucia.

Holeinthetoad · 26/01/2023 14:56

for those that asked why we don’t use MILs middle name, it’s Lennox, Delilah is a big enough name without throwing Lennox in to the mix!!

Could baby have his mum’s middle name if you’re doing this for her?

KirstenBlest · 26/01/2023 12:56

@WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll , I was thinking that if you were going for an overload of Ls you might as well go all the way.

Only once did I see a souvenir with my name on it. I didn't buy it.
If anyone sees something with my name on it, they buy it for me, and as a result I have two of the same two items. They meant well.

Go with Loveday - it is a beautiful name.

The only problem I find is that it always reminds me of this:

sunseaandme · 26/01/2023 12:54

Please don't go with Louise or is the most overused middle name of all time (in my generation anyway!) I think Lou or lily or lavender are good options xx

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 26/01/2023 12:50

Delilah Luluella. Grin

You know when you get a pack of alphabet stickers to spell out somebody's name on a card or something - with two, three, even four of the most common letters.... she, along with her good friend Zuzanna ZZyliyzs, would be left as upset as little Balonz and Data are when they're frantically twirling around the stands with personalised pencil cases in the gift shop Grin

I t immediately thought of Delilah Louise

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 26/01/2023 12:14

It might just be me, but as an adult, I have to say it slowly to avoid adding an extra involuntary 'L' sound into the combination, so I don't know if that could be a factor of potential difficulty for a young child?

Then again, I always find my eyes get boggly when I see the surname Phillips - working out whether it has one 'L' or two, as you get both variants - so I might just be getting generally old and worn out!
