A friend has named her baby girl Ida. I think it's awful, just so old fashioned. What do you think?

I like it but then I have a lovely friend with that name.

Bit weird to start a thread with 'I hate this name" Everyone has named they hate/dislike particularly if the name is associated with an unpleasant individual.

I think it is a lovely name. Wonder if we know the same person. It will definitely not be a name where there are multiples in the same class

Awful name. It was my MiLs name and she hated it and was always known by another name.

I love it. But I new an Ida and she was fab. It's often associations that make the emotional behind the name.

I'd probably hate your name.

Actually, she's a very distant acquaintance - a Facebook person, whom I wouldn't exactly describe as a friend. I haven't met her for over 30 years. I just hate the name.

Yes, but you’ve started a thread specifically looking for posters to say negative things about your friends baby name. What if she sees this thread? It’s not a nice thing to do is it.

I really like it - and as it has a lot in common with other short, currently trendy names (Isla, Ada, Edie...) it will probably be generally well received as fitting the current trend but being a bit different.
