Max alliteration

I’m going in circles and returning here over and over again. I also sort of asked this a couple of months ago - sorry, didn’t quite get clarity.

Max Marshall - yes or no?

Feel free to give one word answers - I realise the alliteration is either loved or hated! I’m going to tot up the votes because I just cannot decide.

Love it! I'm all for a bit of alliteration: I have an illiterated (as opposed to illiterate!) DS myself!

DuchessOfSausage · 23/01/2023 17:50

@ZoyaTheDestroyer , Matins and Martins sound the same when we say it. It's regional.

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 23/01/2023 17:50

And there’s one in Marshall!

DuchessOfSausage · 23/01/2023 17:48

No. There's an R in Marx.

Pinkdafodils · 23/01/2023 17:44

Yes in my (European) accent the two 'a's are pronounced exactly the same.

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 23/01/2023 17:36

And you’re saying that in your accent the name Max Marx would sound like the same word twice?

DuchessOfSausage · 23/01/2023 17:32

North-West England (shortish flat vowels)

Pinkdafodils · 23/01/2023 17:30

It’s not Ma Ma. It’s Ma Mar. The vowel sounds are different.

I also say the beginning of Max and Mar the same.

It’s not Ma Ma. It’s Ma Mar. The vowel sounds are different.
Not in my accent.

Being a Max M didn't do Agatha Christie's husband any harm!
Being a successful archaeologist and being married to a bestelling novelist probably helped.

What is your accent?!

Being a Max M didn't do Agatha Christie's husband any harm! I think Max Marshall sounds good. I wouldn't go out of my way to choose an alliterative first and last name but it's not something that bugs me (whereas two or more siblings with the same first initial does, for some reason).

Great name, OP.

Giles1008 · 22/01/2023 20:28

Lovely! I vote yes

Wombat222 · 22/01/2023 06:52

Pinkdafodils · 21/01/2023 22:41

No, I find the Ma Ma too much. It does sound a little like a superhero imo.

Elliott Marshall sounds great!

Thanks! I do like Elliot but everyone will do the two t spelling which I dislike!

Absolutely do it 😊 I have an MM too 😊 and he’s a Max lol

StarCourt · 22/01/2023 02:08

or Maxwell Marshall

WhatDoesItSay · 22/01/2023 01:10

Fab name.

CallieQ · 22/01/2023 01:09

My DS has an M alliteration

CallieQ · 22/01/2023 01:08

Yes

HerRoyalNotness · 22/01/2023 01:03

Yes

my DD name has alliteration, everyone has been positive

Jadviga · 22/01/2023 00:54

I vote yes ! Though I'd probably have Maxim on the birth certificate, but this aside I love alliterative names. My son's name is a B alliteration, and both names also contain the letter R, and it sounds perfect (I'm biased obviously).

MrsMikeDrop · 22/01/2023 00:34

JoyPeaceHealth · 21/01/2023 20:16

I like it. alliteration doesn't always work. Like with the letter F. fiona fowler eg, no.

Gwyneth Paltrow's son is Moses Martin and I think that sounds bad (i'm sure she's not reading) but Max Marshall sounds good. Sounds like Bruce Banner or Bill Bixby.

I agree. Max is a cool name. Sounds like a super hero or a reporter or something. I like it!

AnnieFarmer · 22/01/2023 00:33

Yes

Billslills · 22/01/2023 00:20

You say super hero vibes like it’s a bad thing!!! My opinion hasn’t changed. I love it.

LulooLemon · 21/01/2023 23:53

No
