Hi! FTM here. Not sure what we're having yet but I'm thinking Charlotte if it's a girl and Terry if it's a boy.

What do you think??

Charlotte is a lovely name. However Terry? Not so. Especially awful if it’s for a girl. I know a few Terris and white out exception they all hate their name.

quietnightmare · 21/01/2023 16:07

Charlotte is ok and nn Lottie is cute

Terry? Oh no

Terrance, Terrian, Tristan, Troy, Tatum, Tarquin, Tyrion not much better but there you go

Tyrion? As in game of thrones 😬

SunshineLoving · 26/01/2023 22:12

Both are just okay to me and have had their day. I wouldn't use either.

AliceMcK · 26/01/2023 22:10

Charlotte is a strong name that’s consistently used throughout the years.

Terry is lovely, my DD has a Terry in her class, he’s a lovely kid.

xprincessxjanetx · 26/01/2023 22:07

Yes to Charlotte, love it.

Terry big no no.

changesaurus · 26/01/2023 21:51

Charlotte is a lovely name.

ALS94 · 26/01/2023 21:49

Terry, please no. It makes me think of a middle aged bald guy

Charlotte is pretty and classic

miniaturepixieonacid · 26/01/2023 21:46

Most every Charlotte I have met/know I haven’t liked so that’s put me off that name. It’s also very common

I have the opposite experience. Almost every Charlotte I know is just so lovely that it's one of my favourite names because of having so many positive associations with it.

Never met a little Terry. I think of a middle aged man from a Soap Opera I watched as a child but I can't remember which one it was. He's probably long gone from it anyway. I see no reason why it can't be used now there are so many little Sidneys, Ronnies, Billys, Franks, Bruces etc out there.

Surely2023IsTheYearForMyRainbowBaby · 26/01/2023 00:18

I like them both. Then again Terry is our top choice for a boys name (family connection) should we ever have a Baby

Babynamehelp626 · 25/01/2023 23:54

I've always quite liked the name Charlotte.
Terry is a bit too old fashioned for me

Luredbyapomegranate · 25/01/2023 22:05

Charlotte is lovely but done to death sadly. Caroline?

Terry - it is TOO EARLY for a revival OP. Terry is 75 and wears slacks and short sleeved shirts. How about Toby?

Roseyposeypudding · 25/01/2023 04:40

Charlotte is lovely.

100x no to Terry!

daysleepers · 24/01/2023 23:31

Terry - Sorry but this made me chuckle.

Leffeandolives · 24/01/2023 22:15

Charlotte is fine although quite heavily used.

Terry is a no!

DuchessOfSausage · 21/01/2023 20:26

Terry like Dennis Waterman in Minder is ok but Dennis is nicer

garlictwist · 21/01/2023 20:22

Ive got a mate called Terry who we always tease for having an old man's name - and he's 37. So it's a no from me.

ticktack1 · 21/01/2023 20:14

oldhat85 · 21/01/2023 18:16

Thanks for the replies guys. You know I think you're right terry is a shit name come to think it. Will be choosing another Smile

Thanks for posting this charlotte. It's very humiliating seeing these people taking about how shit my name is

Greeneyegirl · 21/01/2023 18:20

Charlotte is very dull and i dislike the Charlie nickname

Terry not keen on but at least unusual. Terance would be cool

Agree with others. Charlotte is nice and inoffensive if a bit common. But Terry? Really? It’s a big No from me, terrible name.

StampOnTheGround · 21/01/2023 16:42

Charlotte is nice, Terry is not at all.

Notellinganyone · 21/01/2023 16:40

Charlotte is pleasant but dull. Terry is dreadful.

shinynewapple22 · 21/01/2023 16:35

I think with Terry you would be a trendsetter - it's that generation of names for people approximately in their 70s at the moment - so probably due a revival in around 10 years or so.

Svolvaer · 21/01/2023 16:30

margegunderson · 21/01/2023 15:25

Terry is good. Terri is terrible.
How about June? 😀

My DH is Terry, I am Terri - I feel victimised 😂😂

quietnightmare · 21/01/2023 16:07
