Help on choosing a girl's name to go with Claudia and Sienna

Hi all - my partner and I can't decide on names for our second daughter (his third). Would LOVE advice!! Our current combined children are:

Claudia Colliver
Sienna Rose Colliver

and the new baby will be XXX Mae Colliver. We are trying to decide between:

Ava Mae
Erin Mae
Sadie Mae

(Ava is my fave but is it just TOO popular)? My partner loves Erin but we don't have any Irish ancestry and I don't know if that would be weird. Sadie is super-cute but hoping to avoid names beginning with the same letter if possible (my sister and I both begin with E and it was a nightmare with post).

Agree that Ava Mae seems a bit dull next to Claudia.

I like Lucia and Francesca to stay with the Italian theme or if you wanted to avoid another ‘a’ ending then Beatrice works quite nicely I think.

I like Erinna Mae or Erica Mae with Claudia and Sienna.

Ava IS too common and Sadie sounds bad with Mae.
Do you like ..
Elowen Mae
Georgia Mae
Madeleine Mae
Ellinor Mae

Iris1976 · 06/06/2023 20:16

Tessa Mae Collier, all have the a ending then 🙂

Jackonary · 06/06/2023 20:11

I like Ava and Sadie but not Mae.

Ava Sadie ??

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 20/01/2023 21:45

Claudia and Sienna are kind of different styles to me (Sienna being trendier) but they share an Italian link, so maybe something like Francesca, Isabella, Alessia, Emilia, Gabriella, Lucia, Liliana, Gaia, Elena, Ariana, Ginevra?

Of your 3 choices , definitely Ava for me. Although it is much more popular than Claudia and Sienna, Ava is still lovely and I think another "a" ending name would link with the different style sibling names.

Here is a good site. It shows you what is currently popular in Sweden (and Norway) and also historic names. Lots of beautiful names (long and short) here.

@EmilyRose1985 that entire second list are names used in Sweden, so you may want to look further at names used there. They use a lot of names of Latin origin (similar to Claudia and Sienna) so their native names seem to blend really well with them.

Ava goes best with Claudia and Sienna.

It also goes really well with the surname imo.

Luredbyapomegranate · 20/01/2023 13:52

Erin is alright - it would be nice if she had something as elegant as her sisters though -Adela, Francesca, Fernanda etc

Ava is too overused

I love Ava, to me Erin and Sadie are really harsh sounding in comparison (and in comparison to your other girls names which I love.

I don't know any Ava's so I wouldn't let popularity put you off. I do know an Anya though which I think is similar and also very lovely.

Fleur405 · 20/01/2023 13:12

Hello. My favourite name on the list is Erin - I have one and she does have an Irish surname and Irish ancestry on both sides but I don’t think it’s a super traditional Irish name so I think it’s ok to use it in other circumstances.

but…. Claudia and Sienna have a very Italian vibe (though with anglicised spelling/pronunciation) and I think Ava goes best with them. Yes it is popular but that wouldn’t bother me if I loved it.

My daughter also has Italian ancestry and if I’d have been able to persuade my OH her name would have been Lucia! That would also work with your existing names.

I like Sadie! Rare and lovely.

StartupRepair · 19/01/2023 22:26

Or instead of Mae as a middle, how about Maeve as the first name?

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 19/01/2023 22:16

Sadie is lovely.
How about Tessa.

StartupRepair · 19/01/2023 21:54

Sadie is gorgeous. Erin and Ava have much less impact.
How about Francesca? Or Cosima? Or Clementine or Valentina?

Claudiasmum · 19/01/2023 21:51

Other girl names I liked were

Francesca
