Emma or Sophie?

Both lovely classic names. I'd choose Sophie as you say your surname is 4 letters, that's a bit matchy with 4-letter Emma.

amylou8 · 19/01/2023 18:53

Both are nice, but I like Emma best.

Twoinapod · 19/01/2023 18:48

@Emmamoo89 you are entitled to your opinion as am I. To me it’s like an irritating, dull hum sound, can’t understand why people like it. That is my own opinion, obviously loads of people like it as it’s incredibly popular.

DuchessOfSausage · 19/01/2023 18:45

Emma sounds like an irritating sound
I think it sounds pleasant and assertive.

Mittens1717 · 19/01/2023 18:42

Love both so I'm no help 😂

They’re both really popular, as are the similar Sophia and Emily. If that doesn’t bother you, pick either. Personally prefer Sophie, Emma sounds like an irritating sound

Doesn't sound irritating at all. What a silly thing to say

Emma. Sophie / Sophia is very popular. Emma isn't. And I prefer Em to Soph

BlueSuffragette · 19/01/2023 14:56

Sophie

Sophie Smile

resm · 19/01/2023 13:27

Emma.

urbanbuddha · 19/01/2023 13:21

Emma. But it’s tricky cos they’re both lovely names.

Outfor150 · 19/01/2023 13:12

Both are nice. I actually don’t know a single person, young or old, called Emma, so I’d hardly call it basic or common. I know a few Sophies, but they cross multiple generations. It’s a classic too.

DuchessOfSausage · 19/01/2023 13:10

@HelenaMountBattenCampBellFitzGerald , but which is it called? Emma or Sophie?

IMO neither as they are both so so common and basic. However I know some people prefer more basic names ! Out of the 2 I think Sophie is nicer xx

DestinysGrandchild · 19/01/2023 09:20

Sophie

Emmamoo89 · 19/01/2023 09:20

Emma just because I'm called Emma😏 and its a lovely name. Not boring at all

Orangebadger · 19/01/2023 09:19

Either, I like both Emma and Sophie.

FayCarew · 19/01/2023 09:19

Emma. I like both but there are lots of Sophias and Sofias.

NotEnoughMud · 19/01/2023 09:18

Emma

emmathedilemma · 19/01/2023 09:17

Emma (not at all biased!)
I know a billion small Sophie / Sophia's but no Emmas

Rauha · 19/01/2023 09:16

Sophie

AnotherNameChangeYes · 19/01/2023 09:16

Emma as Sophie is really overused.
