Honest thoughts on this boys name please…

Hello! We are looking for a boys name to go with our 3yo Theo (Theodore) and I have stumbled across the name Artie, I love it and don’t know any, just wondering what others thought of it as I can’t ask friends and family in case we use it! Thank you!

It’s a short name for Arthur, which is nice

Definitely think Artie as a standalone doesn't work- Arthur would be much kinder for your son when he's older so he's got the choice.

Thank you everyone…. It’s very tricky as we have an Arthur in the family already (OH’s cousin) and my close friend at work has an Arthur but he doesn’t have a nickname, do you think Artie could work as a stand alone name? I feel so torn as it’s the first name we’ve both loved. We have also considered Frederick (Freddie) but I don’t love it like I do Artie at the moment. Why are boys names so tricky! X

I know a couple of Arties, don’t know if they are short for anything. I have heard one of them get called Artie farty, but kids will always find something like that.

Great combination. Would be tempted to use Arthur on his birth certificate though.

It’s a nickname for Arthur I guess which would be more suitable when he becomes an adult.

Call him Arthur and use Artie as a nickname

Love it, m friend's little boy is Arthur but always called Artie x
