Freya

I'd vote for Freya

GoodbyeLondon · 05/01/2023 07:55

Chloè spelt like that with the accent going up to down would be pronounced chlo-eh. That isn't the French or English pronunciation. I wouldn't put the accent on it unless you're using a different from a country where it's traditional.

Chloe is lovely, although I do prefer Cleo. Freya reminds me of fraying fabric and I dislike the scar sound in Scarlet. Why on earth is your daughter involved in baby naming? If you like Gigi then use it!

Billslills · 05/01/2023 07:35

Chloe. I met a baby called Chloe the other day and thought how lovely it was to hear it on a little one. It’s a pretty sounding and looking name. For how popular it supposedly used to be, I’ve never come across many.

Would you consider:
Cleo
Leah
Lara
Phoebe
Isla
Orla
Nola
Leila

Isla is extremely common, I've met ten so far but I've only met one Iona and she's 30.

Violet not Violent although this highlights the problem with the name!

Chloe is lovely imo.

Scarlett sounds very harsh to my ear.

Freya sounds wispy to me.

Mia - yes, too popular, and also wispy.

Swalewhale · 05/01/2023 05:11

Chloe

Your others are all OK, well Scarlett is a bit faddy and might date, I prefer Charlotte. Gigi I wouldn't use as a full name, it's quite cutesy and juvenile. Also the character of Gigi in the musical is a young girl being trained to be a courtesan when she's older which is a bit of a creepy association. It could be OK as a nickname for a more complete name, not sure what though.

Jaybird43 · 05/01/2023 04:49

I love Freya, such a pretty name. IMO, it’s much nicer than Chloe or Scarlett

Pemba · 05/01/2023 04:45

I like Chloe best (sorry I can't do the accent). It's beautiful and timeless. You will probably get people saying it's dated, just because it was very popular in the 80s and 90s (I think) but so what? Other people will say 'chavvy' because it has been popular across all social classes, but again that's nonsense, it's still a classic name. Khloe on the other hand, they might have a point with that..

Have you also considered Zoe, similar and even more beautiful imo?
