Names like Harriet?

If I love Harriet both as a name and the sounds of it are just right for our family, but don’t want to use it due to close family using it, what other names are there?

That just conjures up DAMMIT Janet. Shock

@deeperthanallroses Just because a family member is using Harriet, why can you still not use it?

I suppose my rules on that are common names are a free for all, names I’ve always really loved and planned to use I would still use, I’ve flagged one of those names to a couple of people just to give them a heads up that of course they can use it but not to get upset if there is another little relation with the same one. I consider that fair warning! But if the name isn’t that common, hasn’t always been THE name, and it’s a close family member I think it’s polite to find something else if I know they’d think it odd/off.

Etta seems popular atm. I don’t like it but obviously some do.

Lots of ‘et’ names around’. Or what about Tasmin, Thomasin, Horatia? (I’m watching too much Nigella Lawson)
