For girls:
Dorothy 9/10 - lovely name, not over-used and means 'gift of God' which is beautiful
Florence (not overly keen on Flo though) 8/10 - nice name but every other girl under ten seems to be called it
Anouchka 5/10 not attractive
Juliet 9/ 10 lovely
Frances 10/10 perfect
ChloƩ 8/10 very nice

For boys:
Rowan 7/10
Perry 0/10 awful
Cody 1/10 awful
Fraser 6/10 alright
Henry 8/10 nice name but overused
Ralph 6/10 not great

jocktamsonsbairn · 21/12/2022 23:54

I only like Fraser tbh! Def not Dorothy as it reminds me of the wizard of Oz! Unless you live in Kansas obvs!! šŸ˜‚

Juliet & Ralph

MamboJamboWambo · 21/12/2022 23:38

So you have an issue with an American name but then suggest an Italian name?

I didn't say I had an issue with Cody as an American name, did I? Just that it was very different from the very English Henry Ralph and Perry. People tend to make lists of similar names IME.

Yellowcakestand · 21/12/2022 23:43

I don't like any of them. Although I do know a Ralphie, I like that

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 21/12/2022 23:42

Juliet and Henry - classic feeling and gorgeous sound, so would be my picks.

Also have a soft spot for trendy but sweet sounding Rowan and Scots lad Fraser. Quite like uncommon, quirky Anoushka, bohemian trendy Florence and retro ladylike Frances too. Don't like the sound of Ralph personally but nothing wrong with it as such.

Not Cody or Perry - very 90's/00's sounding boyband imo and on the opposite scale I know Dorothy is on an upward swing currently but it's still feels like it should be in a retirement home to me.

CatSeany · 21/12/2022 23:39

Florence, Juliet, Frances and Henry I love!

MamboJamboWambo · 21/12/2022 23:38

Pemba · 21/12/2022 23:09

They are all very different from each other! I like the girls' list, the only one I don't like that much is Florence, I quite like Flora though. And Frances is a fine name but a bit plain, makes a good middle name though. Have you considered Francesca?

The boys' names, again very eclectic. You've got Cody which is very American, then Henry, Ralph and Perry, which are a bit try hard posh English. I prefer Harry to Henry, and Perry is a bit wussy imo. Rowan is a girl's name to me. Actually I'm not mad on any of the boys' names.

So you have an issue with an American name but then suggest an Italian name?

BungleandGeorge · 21/12/2022 23:37

Perry is definitely not posh, just reminds me of Kevin’s mate!

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 21/12/2022 23:37

For girls:
Dorothy love
Florence love
Anoushka love
Juliet ok
Frances no
ChloƩ ok

For boys:
Rowan love
Perry ok
Cody no
Fraser love
Henry love
Ralph no

I think it’s a great list. It would be Henry or Anoushka for me

sunflowerdaisyrose · 21/12/2022 23:36

I like Juliet, Chloe and Henry.

I don't mind Fraser and Rowan.

Fivebeanchilli · 21/12/2022 23:32

Interesting that some see Perry as a try hard upper class sort of name. I know 2 Perrys and both are addicts and very much not upper class.

RP2211 · 21/12/2022 23:31

Love Florence but she would be called Flo. The boys names scream naughty boy names apart from Henry. Surname used as a first name not keen at all.

Mumofgirls2017 · 21/12/2022 23:31

For girls:
Dorothy- love
Florence (not overly keen on Flo though)- florrie? As love too
Anoushka- not a fan
Juliet- love
Frances- blah
ChloƩ- becoming dated

For boys:
Rowan- like
Perry- pear cider
Cody- no. Dated American
Fraser- ok
Henry- love
Ralph- like

Fivebeanchilli · 21/12/2022 23:30

Dorothy - lovely. Becoming more popular but still not very common
Florence (not overly keen on Flo though) - I like Florence. I know quite a few and none are Flo.
Anoushka - it's ok. It always feels a bit of a big name to me. I prefer Anya.
Juliet - lovely
Frances - it's ok. I think Francis is getting popular for boys so this would put me off
ChloƩ - I don't like the accent. That would make me want to say clo-ay instead of clo-ee. Also it's a bit boring

Rowan - ok
Perry - horrible
Cody - horrible
Fraser - nice
Henry - lovely
Ralph - I love Rafe (but prefer it spelt like this). I'm not keen on the Ralph spelling as it reminds me of the boy in Lord of the Flies

Dorothy and Rafe would be my favourites. Juliet, Florence and Henry are great too.

AudTheDeepMinded · 21/12/2022 23:24

Juliet and Dorothy (Dorothea nicer though)
Boys names, not keen at all.

Kentlassie · 21/12/2022 23:22

I like Florence, Henry and Ralph but none of the others.

curlymacv · 21/12/2022 23:18

I like Juliet, Rowan, and Fraser.

Find it hard to believe people think Ralph is nice but Fraser is terrible, but I suppose we all have our own taste

MrNook · 21/12/2022 23:18

Florence and Frances are on my list if this baby is another girl, I really like them

Not a fan of any of the boys

rainbowandglitter · 21/12/2022 23:16

I like Frances but none others

Blahburst · 21/12/2022 23:13

Juliet, Henry and Rowan are nice.

Oneandabean · 21/12/2022 23:01

Florence is the only nice girls name, met a little one called Florence who went by Flossie.

henry and Ralph are ok.

The rest I don’t think are very nice.

DramaAlpaca · 21/12/2022 23:00

I like Dorothy, Florence and Juliet. I cannot stand Anoushka, it's awful.

I like Henry and Fraser, but don't like the others.
