I don't like Anouska and I don't like Cody.

MerryChristmasToYou · 22/12/2022 19:38

Dorothy - like it a lot.
Florence (not overly keen on Flo though) - me neither
Anoushka - seems dated

Frances - ok, will get written as Francis
ChloƩ - overpopular about 20 years ago

Rowan - nice but too similar to all the other R names currently popular
Perry - dreadful
Cody - dreadful

EmmaC78 · 22/12/2022 18:49

Juliet and Fraser are the only two I like.

BabyYoZenZen · 22/12/2022 18:46

I think Juliet is lovely for a girl, Henry or Cody for a boy. I don't really like the others, sorry.

Tinsella · 22/12/2022 18:45

Henry is the only name on your boys list I could go for. Although even then, it’s a bit dull.

Anoushka is lovely.

I quite like Frances. Dignified, and good nickname potential (Fran, Frankie etc).

LadySlipper · 22/12/2022 18:44

I love Juliet and Rowan.

cansu · 22/12/2022 18:42

Henry - overused 2/10
Ralph - the Simpsons 1/10

Chickenkorma64 · 22/12/2022 18:37

Dorothy is awful. Do not foist that on a poor child. The rest are fine, although Cody seems out of favour now round here

BCBird · 22/12/2022 18:16

None sorry.

greenkitten2 · 22/12/2022 18:12

For girls:
Dorothy - nice
Florence (not overly keen on Flo though) - also nice but quite popular
Anoushka - I don't like the harsh ending
Juliet - nice
Frances - meh
ChloƩ - nice name but the accent may be difficult spelling wise

For boys:
Rowan - lovely
Perry - platypus, no
Cody - no
Fraser - meh
Henry - nice
Ralph

ReadtheReviews · 22/12/2022 18:11

I love all your girls. Special love for Dorothy and its diminutives. Boys I like Ralph, Cody and Henry.

nancydroo · 22/12/2022 18:11

Dorothy Anouska and Ralph. Don't like the others. Chloe is like Zoe is Like Pam very blah

DisplayPurposesOnly · 22/12/2022 18:09

I only like Chloƫ with an ƫ

MajorCarolDanvers · 22/12/2022 18:05

Juliet, Frances, ChloƩ are great. Although I wouldn't bother with the accent in Chloe

Fraser , Henry are alright.

TidyDancer · 22/12/2022 18:04

I like Juliet and Chloe from your girls list and Rowan and Henry from your boys list. Not hugely keen on any of the others really.

Diverseopinions · 22/12/2022 18:00

Juliet is nice. The sounds are nice and classically balanced and the association with Shakespeare's play gives it distinction.

scottishnames · 22/12/2022 17:55

I like Dorothy and Florence (I'd use nickname Flossie). Frances is great - plain and simple and elegant, like Jane. I'm not keen on Juliet - prefer Julian/Gillian. But no reason for that, just personal taste. If you choose Chloe, please spell it correctly. There is no acute accent over the final 'e'. If you want to emphasise the Chlow-EE pronounciation, then use a diaresis (two dots) over the e. That shows it's pronounced as a separate syllable. As a previous poster has pointed out, a final e with an acute accent gives you the sound 'ay' . That's not what the name sounds like.

Boys names - Rowan is really nice but quite popular and (as others have said on other threads) likely to get lost in a sea of currently extremely popular Rohans and Romans. Of the others, Henry is a good solid name. I don't particularly like it, but again, that's just personal taste. But I very much prefer it to the rest on your list.

Gosh, OP am sorry if this sounds unkind. That is not my intention. Of course, of course, the name of your baby is ENTIRELY up to you, whatever people say.

MolkosTeenageAngst · 22/12/2022 00:09

I like Juliet, Rowan and Ralph. Chloe, Henry and Cody are fine. Don’t like any of the others.

mathanxiety · 22/12/2022 00:08

Doh!

Also Rowan

mathanxiety · 22/12/2022 00:08

Anoushka
Chloe
Juliet

Henry
Fraser

CrimsonThunder · 22/12/2022 00:06

We probably have different taste in names. The important thing is if you like them.

Dorothy - sorry, I don't think I'll ever warm to this. Don't like Dorothea either.

Florence (not overly keen on Flo though) - overused dated.

Anoushka - very 1980's, but I really like it.
Juliet - lovely, but I prefer Julla
Frances - like Dorothy, not a name I can warm to. Prefer Francesca or Francine
ChloƩ - prefer Zoƫ

For boys:
Rowan - my favourite - love it for a boy or a girl
Perry - I just think Kevin or platypus!
Cody - ok - prefer it for a girl
Fraser - like it
Henry - love it
Ralph - no!

For a girl what about:
Edie or Edina
Delphine
Coralie
Anneke
Rowan

Boys:
Jude
Raphael
Silas
Elias
