What do you think?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
TheBirdintheCave · 19/12/2022 07:14

Sure! Nothing wrong with Keith. It's a perfectly normal name and there won't be three others in his class.

Have the midwives said he'll probably come out with a wife and kids? If so then yeah perfect

this really made me laugh 😂😂

frazzledasarock · 19/12/2022 07:16

Are you having a 70 year old accountant?

Namechangedforthisonetoday · 19/12/2022 07:17

I do know a 7 year old called Brian. Maybe these names are coming back 🤔

pilates · 19/12/2022 07:18

No 🥴

EllieRosesMammy · 19/12/2022 07:21

Oh hell no.

I know a child called Alan, that's bad enough 🤦‍♀️

LubaLuca · 19/12/2022 07:22

I like Keith, it's a more solid-sounding Heath. I know it is less fashionable now than it was in the 1950s, but not long ago we'd have all been saying names like Lily and Jack were too old-fashioned to use.

yellowjellytot · 19/12/2022 07:24

These things tend to come in waves. I can remember my parents laughing at the idea of a baby called Arthur because they associated it with old people. If you like it, go for it.

TheNinthLock · 19/12/2022 07:28

I surprised myself by liking it!
Good strong name.

TheYummyPatler · 19/12/2022 07:37

my parents always used to refer to Keiths as keich, which is a Scots word for shit.

It’s not an association I can get past, however niche.

I love how you're in the baby names section, the title says 'Keith' in it and you still felt the need to clarify for a boy. 😂

To be fair, Keith for a girl would be a truly hilarious thread.

Enko · 19/12/2022 07:40

I like Keith. Also I've never.met a bad one.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 19/12/2022 08:49

Do that many people say Fink instead of Think, Frilled instead of Thrilled etc?

Many it's a dialect/regional thing?

Yes, it's extremely common - especially in the south-east. However, I went to school with a boy who did the opposite: he couldn't say 'F' and it came out as 'Th' - so "Three, Thour, Thive".

faffadoodledo · 19/12/2022 09:54

I know a 17 year old Dennis. He wears it well. And no one even thinks oooooer that's an odd name for a teenager.
If you like it, go for it! Better than a weird unique or made up name.

I think Dennis is cool though. It's still popular in Europe. Keith is marginally better than Kenneth or Kevin. But it still feels dated. Like a man who drinks real ale and has recently retired from the Health
And Safety executive

Like other surname vaguely Celtic names. Douglas and Clifford and Graham and Duncan.

JamSandle · 19/12/2022 12:55

I really dislike the name!

NippyWoowoo · 19/12/2022 12:56

Dump and run OP lol. Nice try.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 18/12/2022 03:16

What are you other kids called?

Nigel, Derek & Linda.

🤣

Marymary987 · 19/12/2022 13:57

Gosh No. poor kid

itsallgettingonmytitsnow · 19/12/2022 17:23

I know only 1 Keith. He is in his 40's. Oh also he is a cunt.
Please don't do this to your baby.

Kanaloa · 19/12/2022 17:43

Honestly I think it’s alright. It’s dated/old fashioned, yes. But it’s not offensive in any way or awful to wear. I think it’s okay.

Kanaloa · 19/12/2022 17:44

Plus I think it’s a bit like meeting a toddler Gary/Brian/Alan etc. People assume it’s a child named after an older relative. And as those names become the names of our fathers and grandfathers etc, they will come back into common usage for children.

Penguinsaregreat · 19/12/2022 17:44

Awful. Dated not classic.

Koifish · 19/12/2022 17:48

I absolutely love it. Also by the time he’s in school the name will be seen as a trendy retro name and you will be ahead of the curve.

HoHoHowMuch · 19/12/2022 18:53

Keef from Saaaf London.

I have always said on name threads your child your choice, but please please don't do this.
