Can I ask what part of Scotland you're from - Rhona's quite an unusual name here (south east).

PS, for the op, you can also spell it like the island - Rona.

I love Adair - Scottish girls names which means innovative. Dh wouldn't let me have it but had a DS anyway.

miaou..thats what she used to say but we were in the central belt and there was teachers daughter called mhairi, vari so peeps were especially careful to get it right!
she was next to me on the register and got so pissed off!

margaret is classi, as is maggie

knew too many nasty rhona's and wilting fiona's in my time..

miren is nice, but not (st.)mirren lol

P.s Pruners. Mairead is Marr-it,I know omly because that is how Margaret is often pronounced here,
Fin 54, I could be here all day! Rowan also girls name and very Scottish, means "litle red one" we had picked it ifour dd had red hair (as dh has)If i think of any more i'll let u know!

Mirin, or Mirren is a nice Scottish name for a girl. What about Skye? A variation of Shona is Shaunnagh, I am Scotish and Irish girls names are very popular here at the moment! Eilidh is actually Irish and means "Grace" same as Hannah a Scottish name. Can you tell I read all the baby name books!

I know a Scottish Mhairi, who comes from a Gaelic-speaking family, and they pronounce it "Maree", not with a V sound

How about Orcadian names: Vaila, Vida?
