Hey all,

What do you think of this name for a baby girl?

Pronounced as Cleh-Leah , with emphasis on the first syllable.

I absolutely love this name. I've only ever seen it in a book (Jerusalem the Golden by Margaret Drabble).

Same

I think it's because it sounds like "clit" crashed into "labia"? IDK.

RedRobintweets · 14/12/2022 13:44

Clelia should be pronounced in the beginning with “K” like Cleo, not “S” like Cecilia.

Does it sound that bad…?!

Really, really awful, and makes me picture female genitalia for some reason.

Same

How about Clea?

Eatentoomanyroses · 14/12/2022 13:42

No. It sounds like an STD.

TrashyPanda · 14/12/2022 13:42

I prefer Celia

or Cecilia

Clelia looks strange and sounds like a spot cream.

2tired2bewitty · 14/12/2022 13:41

Whilst it sounds ok, it looks like a typo for Celia.

MolesOnPoles · 14/12/2022 13:41

I assumed a typo for Celia (which I love) and it’s a right mouthful to say.

Carrieonmywaywardsun · 14/12/2022 13:41

How about Claudia, Celia (see-leah), cecilia, lila etc?

ethelredonagoodday · 14/12/2022 13:41

I agree with the PPs.

rubyslippers · 14/12/2022 13:40

It looks like you’ve misspelled celia

Honestly, it sounds like you'd have a speech impediment
