Hey all,

What do you think of this name for a baby girl?

Pronounced as Cleh-Leah , with emphasis on the first syllable.

What about Cleonie or Calista or Clarissa or Celeste?

Prettypennies · 14/12/2022 14:17

I prefer the name Clio

romdowa · 14/12/2022 14:15

Sorry but it sounds like a medical term of some sort.

Someone who used to be on TOWIE was called Clelia

I was going to say this. It sounds awkward to me, not sure why.

toastofthetown · 14/12/2022 14:08

I like Cloelia, but not a fan of Clelia. It feels a bit too busy sonically for me.

treadcarefully · 14/12/2022 14:07

@MaydinEssex Snap!

treadcarefully · 14/12/2022 14:06

There was a girl in towie called this

LadyDanburysHat · 14/12/2022 14:06

I think it sounds clunky, and difficult. I also think it would be pronounced Clee-lia rather than Cleh-lia

Swissnotswiss · 14/12/2022 14:03

I know an Italian Clelia. She is very nice but I dont really like the name!

VivaVivaa · 14/12/2022 13:56

I’d read it Cleh-Leah. It’s clunky and sounds like it could be a brand of female hygiene product if I’m honest. Sorry.

2Rebecca · 14/12/2022 13:55

No for the reasons given

MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 14/12/2022 13:53

There was one on TOWIE. She pronounced it like klee-leah, and I did think it seemed a clunky kind of name.

RedRobintweets · 14/12/2022 13:50

Yes, you are right. It’s a shorter sound than Leah but I doubt everyone in this thread would like it if I wrote “lia” rather than “Leah” …

Clelia should be pronounced in the beginning with “K” like Cleo, not “S” like Cecilia.

Does it sound that bad…?!

It's awful. ☹️

Rowen32 · 14/12/2022 13:49

I also thought of that body part 🙈🙉 it just sounds so awkward too

Anoisagusaris · 14/12/2022 13:49

It’s pronounced slightly different than how you have explained . It’s a shorter sound than ‘Leah’.

DialSquare · 14/12/2022 13:48

Feels like I've got a swollen tongue when I try to say it.

RedRobintweets · 14/12/2022 13:48

It’s a real Italian name…

SoupaDoupa · 14/12/2022 13:46

I agree with all comments above.

Celia yes. Clelia no. Don't do it OP. Be original with something else, but not her name.

Yes

SunshineAndFizz · 14/12/2022 13:46

Nah.

Looks like a typo. Hard to pronounce.

Bullshot · 14/12/2022 13:45

It sounds wrong . Is it a name or have you made it up ?

Celia is a nice name . As is Claudia

Anoisagusaris · 14/12/2022 13:45

I like it. There is/was an actress in an Irish soap named Clelia.

Radiatorvalves · 14/12/2022 13:45

Sounds like a typo or an std. Celia and Cecelia are great. Leah is ok. Why mess with it? And I speak as someone whose son has an Irish name which never gets spelt correctly. He calls himself Fred in Starbucks…
