Favourite -elle name

I quite like -elle endings with girls names. Though not too keen on Elle or Ella alone. What’re your favourite ones? Do you think -elle names are dated?

Lulubelle. Actual name at my kids school.

my personal favourite is Jezebel. (Genuinely) love it, but it’s just not useable is it…

It's a fabulous name. And so empowering

I love Marielle and quite like Gabrielle.

Names that can be spelt with either -elle or just -el, I tend to prefer with just -el, like Isabel. (You're probably thinking "so why Marielle rather than Mariel?" The answer is that I don't pronounce them the same.)

In a English I think you are usually better with a single I at the end - Isabel rather than Isabelle

I don’t think they are dated especially but there are a lot of them about. Maybe Christabel?

I really love the names Gabrielle and Danielle. I have friends with both these names and they are always being called Gabriel and Daniel.

Isabelle, Annabelle etc probably safer.

Agree that the French -elle endings look naff outside of France.

Stick with the English -el ending
