Can I throw Rosabel into the mix as you seem to love Rose/ bel type names x

ladygindiva · 12/12/2022 13:56

You have loads of nice names there, at a push I'd select Clara, Connie or Annabel ( not keen on the extra le on end, but that's just me 🤣)

wandared · 12/12/2022 13:51

I like Phoebe.

Really don't like Jemima, Heidi or Ottilie. I think they all sound a bit posh/trying-too-hard.

StellaOlivetti · 12/12/2022 13:46

Jemima, Polly, Rosie or Isobel (this spelling).

Luredbyapomegranate · 11/12/2022 20:00

Amelie - bi twee and overused
Annabelle - nice, prefer Annabel
Arabella - I like it
Aurora - overdone. Adela?
Clara - sweet, popular
Connie (not Constance) - not as a full name - Constancia is nice though
Cerys - love it
Emilia - done to death
Emma - a good classic
Heidi - a weird combo of twee and porny
Isabella - done to death
Jemima - bit twee but I like it
Lucy - ok, prefer Lucia or Lucienne as a full name
Matilda - done to death
Mariella - ok, prefer Marina or Marianne
Ottilie - nah, twee and faddy
Phoebe - ok, popular
Polly - sweet but too twee as a full name. It’s short for Mary, so maybe as a nn for Marianne or Maria
Rosie - done to death / too twee as a full name
Rosanna - lovely but so many Rose names - she’ll end up Rosie
Sophia - done to death
Zara - nice, popular

I like Amelie, Emma and Sophia from your list.

mintdaisy · 11/12/2022 18:08

My favourites are Clara, Matilda and Jemima

AdaColeman · 11/12/2022 18:03

Heidi is my favourite.
I also like Clara Matilda Mariella.

Ottlie is my least favourite.

I'd avoid Rosie Isabella, Sophia and all your A names as they have been extremely popular for years, so there will already be a lot of them.

BesidetheseasideXxx · 11/12/2022 17:50

Arabella Mariella Isabella and Ottilie are too much for me. I like all the others.

Polly and Lucy are sweet and not too common.

FearofQueefing · 11/12/2022 17:41

Many of these are a bit frilly for my taste. I loathe Arabella.

Think the following are all lovely though...

Amelie
Cerys
Emma
Heidi
Lucy
Rosie
Rosanna

Magicbears · 11/12/2022 15:06

Amelie - no, too similar to overused Amelia
Annabelle - no
Arabella - too frilly dislike
Aurora - no and becoming popular
Clara - like
Connie (not Constance) - like
Cerys - ok
Emilia - too similar to overused Amelia
Emma - dull
Heidi - like
Isabella - nice but overused
Jemima - like
Lucy - a bit dull
Matilda - becoming overused
Mariella - too frilly
Ottilie - really don’t like this and it’s very ‘now’
Phoebe - love
Polly - no
Rosie - pretty but v popular
Rosanna - will blend with other Rose names
Sophia - so overused
Zara - love

So I would go Clara, Connie, Heidi, Jemima, Phoebe or Zara

dancingqueen123 · 11/12/2022 14:20

I like Cerys, Polly & Zara.

Pemba · 11/12/2022 14:14

I don't really like Ottilie, although I know it's becoming popular. Just don't like the sound I suppose. And Heidi is a bit cutesy and twee, you imagine a perky little girl with pigtails and freckles which is OK I suppose, but not later on for a grown woman.

The others are all nice.

cptartapp · 11/12/2022 14:12

Love Zara.
Prefer Cara to Clara and Roseanne to Rosanna.
Heidi and Emma are ok.
Don't like the others.

FayCarew · 11/12/2022 14:09

Annabelle - too frilly.
Arabella too long and too frilly
Aurora - dislike
Clara - the Claira pronunciation is ok, the Clah-ra version isn't
Connie (not Constance) - nice

Emilia - nice but too similar to Amelia, which I don't like

Heidi - like
Isabella - pretty but too long

Mariella - a bit long and frilly
Ottilie - dislike
Phoebe - fine
Polly - like
Rosie - ok
Rosanna - ok
Sophia - overused
Zara - ok

Like Jemima, Matilda, Lucy, Emilia, Ottilie
Neutral to the others but they are all nice names.

Also hate Clara pronounced Cl-Ah-Ra. However I love Cl-Air-ah. My names Clare and I despise it.
