I am writing my Christmas cards and have totally forgotten my next door neighbour’s baby’s name. It is a bit like Briony or Rowan, but definitely neither of those. I’ll remember it as soon as I hear it.

Have looked through the top 100 girls names with no luck. And have written “Dear Neighbour, Neighbour’s husband name, and…” so can’t even style it out and leave it off the card Grin

Suggest me some names, MN!

Oh well done!
My mate and I are trying to think of another mate’s sister’s name. It’s an eighties name, but it’s not Kelly, Donna, Michele, Christine…… we can’t get it Grin

Turned out to be Imogen! Was on the tip of my tongue all evening.

@Idontwantafuckingusername no I don’t have a close connection to them, they are just neighbours, but they do take parcels in for us, and were happy for my six year old and his little friends to go trick or treating last month, so I’d like to send them a card to say we appreciate them. Nothing more to it than that. Sorry if you find that weird.

She's already written 'and'. Also why is it weird to write baby name on?

It's weird because it's a baby, and clearly a baby OP doesn't really have any connection to if they can't even remember the name. I'd write "and family" at a push. It's just odd to me.

I didn't notice the part about already having written "and", though.

toastofthetown · 10/12/2022 20:25

Fern? Could you just write ‘and family’. Or start a new card addressed to the XY family?

gerispringer · 10/12/2022 20:25

Just write To all at no……….
or
to Mike and Jane and all the family

"That sort of name"? What does that even mean?!

You don't need to include the baby's name on a Christmas card; I certainly wouldn't, and wouldn't be offended if someone didn't. In fact, when anyone does, I find it a bit weird.

This would work if you don't want to ask or can't find out. I remember my parents used to get cards like that all the time so you won't be the only one.
