I like Mia

Pemba · 10/12/2022 03:08

Mostly very nice, I particularly like Nina, Chloe, Rosa and Sarah. Ava and Isla are OK, but overly popular at the moment.

The only one I don't like is Luella, it just sounds like a hokey kind of name from the deep South of the USA, dated to around the mid twentieth century.

puddingandsun · 09/12/2022 20:59

Ava - too many around, grew to dislike
Ayla- like but imagine people not being sure how to pronounce/ spell?
Isla - like but overused
Nina - hate (sorry)
Sienna - too many around, grew to dislike
Gia - ok
Mia - ok (quite common though)
Georgia - (everybody I know with that name has Greek heritage.) Like.
Luella - never heard before. Sounds good. I like -ella names.
Eloisa - not sure
Rose/a - overused around here
Sarah - good, classic
Chloe - ok, cute

I would have Rose as a nn for Rosalind.
Mia, Gia, Sienna and Luella - don't like.
Nina is good but there are a lot of them, or at least round here.

I am really curious how people will miss-spell Chloe. I thought this was the standard spelling and a well known name (although I do know a Khloe so maybe I'm answering my own question)

Love Rosa

Starrylight · 09/12/2022 01:28

Nina I like. The rest as others have said sound overused. I do like Sarah too, but not sure it's due a comeback yet? As, I'm early 40's with a lot of friends called that. If I was going for a recent revival name I'd probably choose Emma instead.

Smallonesaremorejuicy · 09/12/2022 01:23

I really like Nina .Really don’t like Luella too much like Cruella de ville .
