So that basically…

My top 5 list -

Winter
posie
ceCe
Lux
Loveday

My husbands too 5 list -

Matilda

We have both vetoed each other’s list… not sure where to go from here to find a name we even like let alone love….

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

@Mimilamore , but she must have decided at some point that Sue-Ellen might hold her back

Mimilamore · 09/12/2022 09:51

Mimilamore , Suella isn't the name she was given as a baby
I am aware of this but she goes by it and it didn't hold her back...
Ridiculous snobbery if a child has to be named to fit the parents' idea of future careers!!

I think you need to just find a middle ground? I don't think any of your names are bad, just personal taste. Also your husband can't dictate what she will be known as at school - use her full name until she decides her own preferred nickname.

Something like Juniper can be shortened to June (not suggesting this particular name, just an example and is kind of middle ground between your name types).

qpmz · 08/12/2022 20:51

LoveDay? Is that a typo?

If I would you I'd listen to your DH

MerryChristmasToYou · 08/12/2022 19:41

@Mimilamore , Suella isn't the name she was given as a baby

felulageller · 08/12/2022 19:39

Let Emily decide.

TheSunnySide · 08/12/2022 15:49

This is satire, right? 🤣

Nope - due to my partner's very common last name I had to make sure I wasn't naming my child after a mass murderer or similar.

It's his fault he kept making jokes about horrible people with his last name....

Mimilamore · 08/12/2022 19:26

Are the names you propose names of CEOs or Prime Minsters??????
I bet Suella and Tracey's mums were told this too 😂

Mimilamore · 08/12/2022 19:23

Mean posters... who can't think out of the box. If you like a name you like it and not everybody thinks like them. Loveday is beautiful and just shows the ignorance on here, very old name....keep looking for one that your husband likes too though otherwise you may get the finger pointed at a later date.
Having worked in a school for many years, it is my experience that children don't give a about other childrens' names, they are accepting, it is the parents who have the problem. Also the myth of the bullying over the name, nah, that's the mean parents too.
Winter also pretty, you go girl x

salamanderturtle · 08/12/2022 19:22

Sorry another one saying give control to your husband. But there must be a middle option. Your names are very out there / not names. What about looking a list of names together and picking a less common one but still a nice name.

reallyhatewinter · 08/12/2022 19:18

Please let your DH choose.

DaisyWaldron · 08/12/2022 19:15

I don't think the gap between your taste is as big as you fear. I had Loveday, Cecelia, Matilda and Harriet on my long list. In the end, DH and I found one name which we both loved.

Pearfacebanana · 08/12/2022 19:08

That should say GET a name book not HEY

Ffs

Pearfacebanana · 08/12/2022 19:07

Hey a name book and both tick the ones you like and see what matches. That's what we did when our tastes were v different. Just don't lose it in the hotel bar and spend a week trying to get it back....

I have a Louisa. Known as Lou Lou. I love it and whoever said it's so 2015 it hasn't made the top 100 for years!

EasterIsland · 08/12/2022 19:07

Well I’m with your husband All.The.Way

Are the names you propose names of CEOs or Prime Minsters??????
