Parents hate name choice

DP and I have finally settled on a name for DS2, Innes. My parents vocally dislike it and keep suggesting alternatives. Yes, we should just have kept silent on names, but we didn't. There's no real point to this post, it's just getting me down! I don't really want to keep on searching for another name, but it also doesn't feel that nice that people already dislike his name.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Horrible . I'm with your parents . The only Innes I ever met was a lady .

To be blunt it’s none of their business, it’s up to you and DH.
I imagine it’s upsetting to hear they don’t like your name choice. I’m sure they will grow to love the name as they will the child but they need to realise how insensitive they’re being.
Can you tell them it’s upsetting you?

Are you Scottish?

Is it a girl? How do you say it?
I think the best advice is to keep the name you’ve chosen to yourself but you do have to be prepared for not everyone liking your choice.

It's a lovely name! They should keep their opinions to themselves, don't let it put you off, no matter what you pick someone somewhere won't like it
