Anna or Lana?

Baby is due in one week and feeling so indecisive about her name. We didn't have this problem when I had my son. I'm worried that if I hold off until she's born that she could go nameless for weeks.

Definitely Anna. Calling a kid Lana is a bit cruel considering the backwards spelling. Other kids will work this out.

How do you say Lana - does it rhyme with Anna or is it lar-na?

Anna, like it anyway. I hadn’t spotted the back of Lana but as pp notes can’t unsee it.

Thanks, Anna has been a favourite from the beginning. I hadn't really considered the name backwards thing for Lana I just love the sound of the name. I just worry that Anna is a bit boring (although it's not popular where we live)

If you are worried about the backward spelling, Alana is another option. Also allows for nn of Ally.

The Anal thing makes Lana a hard no. I'd be concerned about bullying in school, honestly.

Lana is a no because it's so easy to spot the reverse spelling and not a reach in any way to do so. Once spotted, you can't un-see it

I love Lana, it's my DN'a name BUT at school they've worked out what it says backwards and she hates it.

This Is hard. I love both! I guess I would choose Anna but Lana Is lovely too.

Maybe If you're planning to get more kids you could name her sister Lana because they sound adorable as a sister duo :D
