I'm not keen on either TBH, but Edward is the better choice of the two.

Clark Kent
Clark's shoes
Clark is a surname

LOL @ always being able to find a pair of shoes with your name on! (Although better than mine - that was on a range of cleaning products!)

I have a great fondness for Clark as had a lovely childhood friend by that name.

I'd go Edward - poor boy would have a lifetime of "Clark? Like Clark Kent?" ahead of him - more nickname options for Edward as well.
