Both are lovely names. Amber is fairly well used these days, although that wouldn't bother me personally. I'd probably choose Phoebe.

Ta here, I've seen Phoebe spelt Pheobe far too many times over the years for it to be a name I'd consider - and with my teacher hat on, it's incredibly hard to teach the child how to recognise, spell or write their name, 'Ph' - oh yeah that's 'f' oe "ee" be "bee" !!

Phoebe is my preference. As for middle names, my opinion is that they should be celebrating or remembering another family member. Such as the name of a grandmother.

I have an Amber and it's great, well know enough that everyone can recognise/spell/pronounce it, but we've never met another one, so don't need to constantly tag on an initial at school.
