I love Hector, Leo and Edward.

Do you like Cedric?

toastofthetown · 27/01/2023 11:30

Arthur - I like Arthur but the huge popularity puts me off
Hector - love it. My favourite for my list and my top choice if I were to have a boy
Edward - Edward always sounds clunky to me, and I much prefer the similar Edmund
Leo - bland and very popular
Matthew - dull and dated
Tristan - I should like Tristan more than I do but it’s still probably my second favourite on your list

Twoinapod · 27/01/2023 00:22

Tristan is lovely, Edward too but there are so many now.

I like Hector Leo is ok. Matthew is fine.

Arthur is so overdone now, I’ve really gone off it.

AliceMcK · 27/01/2023 00:22

Arthur - love, but very popular at the moment

Hector - also love, loved it since watching Eric Banner play Hector in a Troy.

Edward - love one of my grandads names, very strong solid name

Leo - ok, a few in my DDs school

Matthew - strong solid name but not a favourite, especially as their is a Matthew in my DDs reception class who has physically attacked her multiple times, so not liking my current association with it.

Tristan? - no

Hfgvi · 27/01/2023 00:21

Leo is the best. My Leo is a teenager, I didn’t realise it was so popular now, he’s always been the only Leo at school.

HeavenIsAHalfpipe · 27/01/2023 00:19

When I hear 'Hector' I think of someone bullying and goading someone. Awful name IMO.

RoseMartha · 27/01/2023 00:19

Matthew or Tristan

HeavenIsAHalfpipe · 27/01/2023 00:18

Tristan and Hector are awful.

Edward and Matthew are all right.

Leo and Arthur are the best.

Marcipex · 27/01/2023 00:16

Edward.
Tristan is awfully wet and Hector is a bit harsh.

Cannottryasp00 · 27/01/2023 00:15

Sorry but not a fan of any of these names

FixItUpChappie · 27/01/2023 00:13

Tristan is so lovely and not overused

Leo in particular is too popular IMO

Stygimoloch · 27/01/2023 00:03

Leo! Fabulous name.

Matthew and Edward are dullsville
Hector sounds like a farmyard animal
Tristan is okay as is Arthur
Leo is the best but then I’m planning on using it!

Edward. No nicknames.

No nicknames is impossible, really, children may like them and use them. I always think it's a bit weird when parents set this kind of rule, you give the name to the child, but then it belongs to them, not you!

Whatwhatwhatnow · 26/01/2023 23:35

Matthew.
I don't like Tristan as I find it hard to say.

Luana1 · 26/01/2023 23:04

I love the sound of Tristan, but it's meaning puts me off. Arthur and Leo are my favourite others from your list.

LeCarre · 26/01/2023 23:02

Leo is lovely, also like Arthur and Tristan.

Hector sounds ridiculous and pretentious.

The rest are quite nice.

Hobbesmanc · 26/01/2023 22:54

They're all solid sturdy choices. No one is going to think them in any way out of the ordinary except maybe Tristan. Which is a little posh boy for me. Like a Rupert or Sebastian.

I love Matt and Teddy so great nick name opportunities too.

everythingsapickle · 26/01/2023 22:51

Edward is my favourite. Classic and lovely.

I also like Leo and Hector.

Matthew is OK.

Not a fan of Arthur or Tristan.

BasiliskStare · 26/01/2023 17:34

Edward by a country mile

icecreamplease · 26/01/2023 17:20

Tristan

ANewDayDawned · 26/01/2023 17:12
