Help!

We are expecting our second child, Irish living in London. Our daughter has an Irish name and we are keen to give DS one too. But we can't find a single one we like or haven't had to rule out. I've googled and googled, need some serious inspiration!

Can't use the below for various reasons:
Sean
Oisin
Niall
Seamus
Conor
Liam
Ruairi
Fionn

Considering but not loving:
Tadhg
Conan

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Art, a great name!

One of my (Irish-ish) DCs is a Paddy. I figured let it hang out!

I know a Tadhg and my German colleague said it sounds exactly like the German word for "dough". Not that it matters unless you plan on living or working there.

Conan is unfortunately too strongly associated with the TV personality. I know an Irish guy named this and he is Conán.

Eoghan doesn't look nice to me.

Cuan is cute but I've only seen it as Cúán. It's my choice from your list.

Conall
Brefni (I know someone with this as his middle name)
Conrí
Cormac
Aodhan
Diarmuid
Caomhín
Caomh
Caolán
Tadhgán
Conleth

Angus
Aidan

but the last ones are anglicised I think (not sure).

Flooper · 26/11/2022 23:06

We’ve lived in the SE/London and I have no clue how to pronounce Taghd.I’m also a Hcp!
they’l learn phonetics at school, so it could do with sounding vaguely phonetically in the country you’re living in.

my niece is called Aoife and living and texting in Kuwait has actually just changed her name to Aefa.
