Help!

We are expecting our second child, Irish living in London. Our daughter has an Irish name and we are keen to give DS one too. But we can't find a single one we like or haven't had to rule out. I've googled and googled, need some serious inspiration!

Can't use the below for various reasons:
Sean
Oisin
Niall
Seamus
Conor
Liam
Ruairi
Fionn

Considering but not loving:
Tadhg
Conan

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I don't think anyone has mentioned Cahir which is a quite nice...

Also not an Irish name. A town, yes.

EarringsandLipstick · 27/11/2022 09:15

Torin and Corran are not Irish names.

(I know there's all sorts of claims to them being Irish names if you google them, but they are not. I've never heard of them)

Didn’t expect so many responses!! Thanks all so much.

there’s a few names I had previously discounted but might add back to the list. Rian (don’t love Cian… makes me think of Kian from Westlife!), Cormac (don’t know why it doesn’t feel massively modern though), Oran is nice, Ruan/Ruadhan possibly

had thought Luan was a girls name @GrazingSheep (not sure why), but quite like it

@RoyKeaneisRight Uinseann - how do you say it?

I have a Cormac and he loves his name. It's also nicely Irish without being difficult to pronounce or spell. Plus, with certain surnames it's a really cool name iykwim?
