Help!

We are expecting our second child, Irish living in London. Our daughter has an Irish name and we are keen to give DS one too. But we can't find a single one we like or haven't had to rule out. I've googled and googled, need some serious inspiration!

Can't use the below for various reasons:
Sean
Oisin
Niall
Seamus
Conor
Liam
Ruairi
Fionn

Considering but not loving:
Tadhg
Conan

Callan
Conall
Flynn
Cohen

Any good? We like surnames as first names!

Caelan not Cohen - was reading another thread previously and my mind mushed!

Apologies! I really thought it was Irish. My friends niece is Mary Fabienne, known as Fabienne and all her siblings have strong Irish names so I made an assumption. Sorry!

I love Tobin and Darragh too.

Sorry for the lack of update. Baby is still about 3 weeks away. We've basically given up and hoping he will just look like a Daire / Tadhg / Lorcan / etc when he pops out...

Oh wow 3 weeks to go, how exciting! They're all lovely names. We waited until our son was born to make our final choice. Hope your last few weeks go smoothly. Let us know your final decision

@Mummyeyes don't love Direan, sorry. I suppose there's Doire

@nowaynotnownotever that's reassuring about your Eoghan. I think it's from when Eoghan Quigg was on the X-factor that DH took issue to it. Yes honestly (ridiculous). I'm keeping it on the list though

Irish girls names feel so much easier!

William but Liam for every day. That way he can go with a more English name if desired later in life.

What did you decide OP?

My sons are called Cillian & Shea, my partner is Malachy - he’s Irish of course.
i’m expecting baby number 3 & we’re struggling for another Irish boys name😭

Finbar would go nicely

Pearfacebanana · 10/01/2023 17:05

Anyone mentioned Kieran yet?

I was the same, I love so many Irish girl names but not the boys as much. Liam is nice though

Gingerninja4 · 03/12/2022 20:10

Riordan means King's poet , But people do struggle with pronunciation

But then also gives the child option to shorten when teenage

@RoyKeaneisRight do you know what, I like Lorcan. Cute meaning as well and pronunciation reasonable. I will see what DH thinks
