Odd question I know but this stems from a discussion/debate I'm having with a friend.

ladycarlotta · 21/11/2022 14:32

Depends on the exact point in their 40s - the older end are sometimes called Ian, Phil, Paul, Stuart, Dave, Chris, Jason etc.
Closer to my age (mid 30s) I'd expect more like Ben, Tom, James, Steven, Jonathan, Dan/iel, Ed, Matthew.
Scattering of Lees, Dales and Deans in among them. Maybe a Jordan or two.

LubaLuca · 21/11/2022 14:24

I can't see it on anytime else's list, but Gareth is a very common name for men of that age.

MissHavishamsMouldyOldCake · 21/11/2022 14:21

They're either called James or Paul.

antipodeancanary · 21/11/2022 14:20

These are the ones I know, Stuart, mark, Chris, Tim, Glenn, Daryl, Richard

Twizbe · 21/11/2022 14:10

Richard. Very popular is the early 80s

4yearsandwaiting · 21/11/2022 14:10

Matthew, Christopher, Andrew, Richard, Luke, Ben, Johnathan, David and Nicholas were very common names in my year group (I'm early 40s).

PAFMO · 21/11/2022 14:05

Ben, Dan, Scott, Alex.

Most of the others mentioned already were in my class at school and uni. I'm 57.

CraigDavid · 21/11/2022 14:04

Loads of Tom, Ben and Dan!

Espritdescalier · 21/11/2022 14:01

Ed is definitely missing from the lists so far too. Loads of Eds in their 40s.

SallyWD · 21/11/2022 14:00
