Not sure what we're having yet, but need to be prepared for both!! Please pick your fav from the boys and girls, we'd like to hear some opinions 😊

Girls:

-** Juliette Esme

-* Alessia Elouise (we like both names, but maybe these two sound too similar?* Maybe Louise instead?)

-** Delilah Louise
*
*
^^We have Louise down twice because it honours a family member, but it's not essential. We just thought it sounded nice with these two names.

Boys: *

-** Ethan Roman

-** Andre Alexander

-** Andre Emerson

-** Jacques Levi

I meant Louise and Eloise aren't versions of the same name, but I think that the Elouise spelling was a misspelling of Eloise.

A bit like the Pheobes that are registered every year.

MassiveSalad22 · 18/11/2022 19:28

@FayCarew but you’re saying it’s a misspelling, so the same name? 😂 we are missing each other’s point tonight, but I think actually our points are the same.

ReadtheReviews · 18/11/2022 18:23

I used Juliette as a middle as didnt want anyone calling dd Jules or Julie. I think there are a lot of Ls in all your names so makes it tougher putting them together...I like Delilah as a first.

FayCarew · 18/11/2022 18:00

I think you missed out the word not in that sentence, @MassiveSalad22 .
I agree that Elouise would be El-oo-ees not El-o-ees

MassiveSalad22 · 18/11/2022 17:28

I’m aware Elouise and Eloise are the same name just meant they seem totally different to me. I’d say Elouise with more of a ‘loo’ sound, and Eloise more of a ‘lo’ sound.

FayCarew · 18/11/2022 16:35

@MassiveSalad22 , it's a misspelling of Eloise, and it does sound a bit nasal

MassiveSalad22 · 18/11/2022 16:02

Hate Elouise and only ever see it on MN? Makes me think of a blocked nose for some reason. Eloise is much nicer.

Out of your choices I’d go for either Juliet Alessia or Alessia Juliet.

Boys - I do like Roman

FayCarew · 18/11/2022 15:51

or Annette, Alouette, Bernadette, Yvette, Serviette

Gummibär · 18/11/2022 14:35

Or Odette!

Gummibär · 18/11/2022 14:35

Like Jeanette!

Gummibär · 18/11/2022 14:34

Yes of course, I meant the last syllable Blush!

FayCarew · 18/11/2022 14:16

@Gummibär , no it's not. It is on the third syllable.
If the emphasis was on the 2nd it would be Joo-LEE-et (cf. Sophia, Maria)

Gummibär · 18/11/2022 13:54

Fairly certain they are pronounced the same. Interested to know how they aren’t if I’m wrong though! 😊

Juliet = JOOL yet

Juliette = Jool- EE- ETT

The emphasis is on the second syllable with Juliette.

FayCarew · 18/11/2022 10:08

The french way of saying Juliette is pretty, but you won't get that pronunciation in the UK.

Eloise and Louise are not versions of the same name.

fairycupcakes · 18/11/2022 09:55

FayCarew · 18/11/2022 09:05

@fairycupcakes - Juliette is Julie-ETTE, Juliet is JOOL-y-et. Like the difference between Janette and Janet

Ah, in any case in England the JOO liet version is nicer. The French version is lovely if it’s going to be pronounced how it would be in France which is unlikely here.

FayCarew · 18/11/2022 09:35

I know a Juliette and she gets called Julie a lot

LadyEloise1 · 18/11/2022 09:24

Eloise of course.
Juliette is lovely too.

FayCarew · 18/11/2022 09:05

@fairycupcakes - Juliette is Julie-ETTE, Juliet is JOOL-y-et. Like the difference between Janette and Janet

Spookypig · 17/11/2022 23:58

Agree about the spellings though. Juliet is classier than Juliette and Elouise looks like a typo.

Spookypig · 17/11/2022 23:57

I love Juliette and Eloise. Maybe even together although I’m not sure if they flow?
Juliette Eloise
Eloise Juliette

I don’t love any of the boys names except Alexander. Levi is quite cool. I’d maybe choose Levi Alexander or Alexander Levi

Luredbyapomegranate · 17/11/2022 23:36

Alicia Louise
also like Juliet Esme

Both nice, don’t think either are improved by the odd spellings. Alicia and Eloise are too much together.

Ethan Alexander.

Ethan Roman doesn’t go. Andre and especially Jacques don’t translate especially well, so unless you have a strong cultural reason I wouldn’t

antipodeancanary · 17/11/2022 22:04

Working with what you've given, I'd go Juliet Louise and Ethan Alaxander

LulooLemon · 17/11/2022 22:00

Juliette Esme - lovely

Alessia** Louise - also lovely

Delilah Louise - no

Ethan Roman - no to both. Ethan sounds like Ether. Roman reminds me of Polanski.

Andre Alexander - nice

Andre Emerson - no

Jacques Levi - I like Levi. But Jacques will get a lifetime of misspellings if you are in the UK.

Mumofgirls2017 · 17/11/2022 21:55

Sorry to mash them up a bit but I'd love

Delilah Eloise
Juliet Eloise
Ethan Alexander

fairycupcakes · 17/11/2022 21:23

Gummibär · 17/11/2022 20:50

I prefer the Juliette spelling and pronunciation

Fairly certain they are pronounced the same. Interested to know how they aren’t if I’m wrong though! 😊
