connie26 · 19/11/2022 06:59

None of them - sorry. Some sound like reindeer names!

Ihavehadenoughalready · 19/11/2022 06:05

Hobbesmanc · 17/11/2022 13:47

Lucia is lovely. And one of my favourite fictional heroines. Zinnia is a really pretty and underused flower name. I think one of the daughters was called Zinnia in The Darling buds of May.

Polly1974 · 17/11/2022 13:32

I don't find any of them offensive as name choices are a very personal thing. Run them alongside your last name though and check out initials, you don't want a BO for example! I work in education and believe me, these are tame compared to some I've come across Shock x

Luellie · 17/11/2022 13:26

Oooh!

Runa - interesting, I like it!
Fabia - First thought Skoda, second was labia. Sorry!
Blythe - not keen
Beatrix - love this one
Raya - quite like it
Hera - just feels try-hard to me
Zinnia - not keen
Romy - no
Romilly - no
Romeilla - no. Just not a fan of the Rom names.
Hermione - beautiful name, not sure if it's over the Harry Potter association yet though.
Persephone - it's ok
Lucia - alright
Gianna - ehh
Ginevra - this one could grow on me
Mina - nice as a nickname for something else
Elowen - pretty
Hebe - it's giving the heebie jeebies
Darya/Daria - I LOVE Daria! But not so keen on the Y spelling, doesn't flow as nicely.
Dasha - not sure
Juniper - no, too trendy for me
Arwen - if you're welsh yes, otherwise I'd just assume you're too into Tolkien
Asha - nice
Damara - very pretty!

AmandaMirandaPanda · 17/11/2022 13:15

I love Raya - had to look it up on dark greener as a pp described it as trendy and was surprised to see it was 203 in England/Wales in 2021! To me it's a classic and perhaps old fashioned Russian/Slavic name.

I like Hermione and Persephone in theory but not sure I'd use them. Also like other Greek -e names like Ariadne, Chloe, Daphne, Evadne, Ianthe, Ione, Ismene, Phoebe, Xanthe, Zoe. I like Damaris too. And Blythe, but it does get some strange pronunciations: I've heard people say it almost rhyming with dive or Clive.

Not a fan of Runa, Fabia, and Juniper.

dream28 · 17/11/2022 09:20

Runa - lovely 10/0
Fabia - not a fan, love Fabian for the boy, but girl versions are fractioned 3/10
Blythe - doesn't it sound like blight? 2/10
Beatrix - prefer Beatrice 9/10
Raya - soo trendy and not pretty 1/10
Hera - prefer Hero, but too similar to heroine and archetype 2/10
Zinnia - I find it hard to pronounce, do you say it like Venetian Z? but pretty otherwise 6/10
Romy - never understand this, vastly prefer Romilly, 6/10
Romilly - love this 10/10
Romeilla - dont get this and too similar to nazi general 1/10
Hermione - I would use it in first name spot, but otherwise good middle material 10/10
Persephone - like this, but never been biggest fan 10/10
Lucia - yes to this, even with all pronunciation, it's pretty name that will work internationally 10/10
Gianna - no, it's Italian for Joan, very common and very regional (from EU perspct), you're basically choosing name for the sake of choosing common name but refreshed 4/10
Ginevra - I understand why people think this is attractive and I loved Griselda, so I won't shit, but maybe it's not those of names that every kid would dream of being named - 7/10
Mina - I understand why some people love it, but there's better nicknames names, there's better shorter names, there's better cuter names and there's better M names, for example Molly, Mary, Manon, Melise, Melly, Mercy, Meryl, Misty, Mirela are all names that are similar, and have some if not all of qualities of Mina and are similar enough to Mina 6/10
Elowen - love it, but it's not historic name, but modern name and apparently there's controversy about pronunciation in Cornish 9/10
Hebe - there's already Phoebe 1/10
Darya/Daria - I find it to be Russian Mom name, my collegue was called Daria 6/10
Dasha - I find Masha to be cuter, which is also Russian nickname and prefer Masha significantly 7/10
Juniper - up and rising name, 9/10
Arwen - no, this variant is too particular, too "Arya" type of names and not pretty 7/10
Asha - no, another "Arya" type of names, but I prefer Arwen 4/10
Damara - prefer Damaris miles away 3/10

Ooh I like Damaris

I like Arwen and Raya. They all read as if you’ve been reading too much Harry Potter tbh.

This made me laugh out loud as is scarily accurate. Oops!
