Using a name family don't like

Has anyone used a name family didn't like? I really like a name Beau. Its unusual so I was on the fence until I've met two children named the same. Baby would have a traditional middle name but I can't find anything else I like.

Family members have said they didn't like it straight away and OH doesn't hate it (he didn't name the last two 🤣). Help!

Exactly, which is why I asked. I see female Beaus and just wonder why you would do it!

Not their choice or child. They could decide their own children’s names

I know a few little girls called Beau - I think it suits both a boy and girl

@alexdgr8 I'm not asking for opinions on it, I'm asking if other people's families didn't like the name.

@MrsTerryPratchett Boy, we don't know what sex is but I know 100% what I'd name a girl. I find naming girls easier 😅

@GAW19 My MIL just mirrors everything back to her.. she just finds some thing that links to herself like she did with my other two. I think she'd struggle this time 🤣

@Dotcheck I think it might get to that point 🤣 hormones make me more ragey 🤣

i agree with them.
they are thinking of the child.
it sounds more like a nick-name.
it doesn't sound solid or serious, but frivolous.

It's not their decision. I know 3 Beaus age 8-12

My MIL is usually a very quiet and laid back woman... when we told her DD2's name.. well, I have never seen her react so bad to anything!
We told her it upset us and that is the name we will call her. She didn't have a choice but to be happy with me Smile

It isn’t their choice.
What do you need help with? Telling them that you’ll use the name? Just tell them that you’ll name your babies and they name theirs.
