Down to two girl's names

DD2 is due in a few weeks. We are down to 2 names. DD1 is called Anoushka.

So, Lyra or Holly?

(DH and I are both fans of His Dark Materials btw)

Lyra is the new Luna, IMO. Seems unusual but there'll be loads in a few years!

Lyra can definitely match up to Anoushka! I actually think it's nicer. Holly is bland and very 90s

Lyra. Anoushka is a different name and Holly is quite basic, they don't belong together imo.

@soulinablackberrypie , I'd only heard it as Jorjayna until recently. I had heard jorjeeahna for things of a georgian style, cf victoriana, edwardiana.

I think Holly is too boring and Lyra is like liar to me.

Georgiana the Duchess of Devonshire was a Jor-jay-nah. It’s the old fashioned pronunciation.

Never heard that before - are you seeing two letters the wrong way round? It's usually Jor-jee-AH-na.

However, if you want the same type of name as Anoushka and you like His Dark Materials then your DD2 obviously has to be Seraphina.
