Rosanna/Roseanna

I started a very similar thread the other day about our DD's middle name 😅

Her first name will be Rosanna, probably spelt like this. In fact, we were pretty set that it would be spelt like this. To me, this looks better and is more common...and that's how it's spelt in Toto's song so it must be right surely 😂
My mum seems to think Roseanna is the 'proper' way and Rosanna would be pronounced Roz-Anna 🙄
I'm annoyed because I haven't actually told anyone that this is the name we have chosen for this reason, as I'm now second guessing it. My mum was commenting on it because it's on our shortlist.

How would you spell it?
Would you pronounce Rosanna the same way as Roseanna?

My friend is Rosanna, pronounced ‘Rose-anna’

I'd pronounce them both Rowsanna.
I think your spelling looks neater.

I'm with your Mum Roz, vs Rose if you want Rose spell it that way make life easy.
Dyslexic head says they are spelt different so must be different.

I'd pronounce Rosanna and Roseanna in the same way. The other variation (at least in Italy-) Rossanna is different. It's Ross not Rose.

as far as I know, many Rose variations (Rosalind, Rosalie, Rosamund) have varied pronunciation of those pronouncing Rose variation with Rose at the start versus 'Old German' Roz at that start. You see this when you see spelings such as Roselyn and Rosemunde.

I would pronounce Rosanna/Roseanna the same. I have a Rosanna, in her twenties now. Very occasionally she's had people adding the 'e' when writing her name, but no one has ever struggled to pronounce it correctly. The name has served her well!

I would pronounce Rosanna and Roseanna differently, but if you pronounce them same, I think people will use to that spelling/pronunciation.
Different names have multiple pronunciations and it's fine, easily corrected.
