  1. Don't remember her name.
  2. Beinta (I think). She was from the Fair Isles.

Joseph, Samara or Debbie. My middle name is after the midwife who delivered me: Alison

Bluedoritos · 05/11/2022 20:24

My midwives were lovely but I can only remember the names of two - Clara and Joanna. I can't remember the name of the consultant who delivered her or any of the others. I had a lot of people involved due to complications so it's all a blur but I remember their two names ☺️

*naming him. Blinking need an edit button. Lol

StrictlyCandelabra · 05/11/2022 20:19

Sally and Christine delivered my son. So I guess if I was making him after one of them, he’d have been Christopher.

my daughter was delivered by a Spanish trainee male midwife (was also his first solo delivery, not by design but because she came so fast) called Andréa.

BusySittingDown · 05/11/2022 20:16

If I had named my DDs after my midwives that delivered them DD1 would be called Kath and DD2 would be called Gillian.

Crunchymum · 05/11/2022 20:13

Alice for DC1 (he was a boy)
Petra for DC2 (didn't use it)
DC3 actually has her middle name after the MW who delivered her. Different spelling, more because we loved the name and it went well with the first name we had than anything else.

My hero is actually the very junior nurse who helped me to finally FINALLY get my son latched on to breastfeed, after more than a day of trying. If we had had a girl I would honestly have given her that lady’s name.

Apollonia1 · 03/11/2022 23:54

The surgeon who did my c-section is Shane.

noproblemlove · 03/11/2022 23:29

1st- Angela (even though I had a boy)
2nd - Stupid Cow (she didn't listen to me at all)
3rd - Hayley or Kimberley (both were amazing!)

Sgtmajormummy · 03/11/2022 23:28

I WAS named after my midwife, who saved my very premature life with baby CPR.
Nobody uses it, I go by my middle name and the midwife’s lovely, very feminine name only appears on official documents.
I had different shifts for my own births and other things on my mind than asking their names. Lack of pain relief, for one…

Sniffypete · 03/11/2022 23:13

Dr that delivered dd was Spanish and I think she was called Ana. Midwife was Lucy and the anaesthetist was called Toby.
Toby would've been an option if dd was a boy anyway.

Swearwolf · 03/11/2022 21:03

I have no idea with my first! I'm very impressed you all remember. With my second, she was delivered by the midwife I saw throughout my pregnancy, so I remember her name was Beth. Which I could happily call my child!

IDontDrinkTea · 03/11/2022 20:59

I’m a midwife - I’ve been privileged enough to have 3 babies named after me so far in my career ☺️

BiscuitLover3678 · 03/11/2022 20:57

Is it bad that I have absolutely no idea what my midwives were called?

MuchuseasaChocolateTeapot · 03/11/2022 20:56

I really regret not using my wonderful fertility doctor’s name for one of mine. Doctor was Jude.

RandomCatGenerator · 03/11/2022 16:02

RandomCatGenerator · 03/11/2022 16:02

Jayasree or Juhi, both women.

Juhi a price butch who made me cry.

Jayasree was amazing and I sent her chocolates afterwards.

My midwives were Denise (who was lovely, kind, gentle and just perfect throughout my pregnancy and early labour) and Cheryl (who was equally fabulous but in a much more no-nonsense way and got me through the hard bit). Not sure either name would have suited my DS though!

Sprogonthetyne · 03/11/2022 12:59

Either 'blond bitch' or 'lovely ginger midwife', I assume they have real name but don't have a clue, so that's what they are in my head.

(Blond bitch is probably a very nice person out side of work, but also not good at listening to patients, which I believe contributed to me ending up with a EMSC)

scotstarstrikestwo · 03/11/2022 12:45

I had an emergency csection and it just so happened the anesthetist was called Andrew but that name was long since decided for him
