Help deciding baby girls name?

We've narrowed it down to eight, which are:

Melody
Kimberly
Lara
Ruby
Cassandra
Naomi
Kiera
Layla

Any thoughts appreciated? Thank you

I really like Kimberley, I think it’s one of the nicer 80s names.

There are 2 Lara’s, a Lana, a Leila, a Layla, a Lena and a Lyra in my dd’s nursery class of 25 - they’re all nice names but they do mingle together a bit.

Layla or Naomi for me. These are all fine though.

The only change I'd make would be to spell Ciara correctly rather than Anglicise it.

Only go for Kimberly or Cassandra if you like Kim and Cassie as well. They will be shortened.

All perfectly acceptable names and my favourite is Naomi

Melody - sounds very 80s.
Kimberly - also very dated. Also I can't hear the name without hearing Victoria Wood in my head
Lara - lovely. I slightly prefer Clara but Lara is lovely
Ruby - it's ok. Super popular 16-20 years ago but maybe has declined a little since then. Definitely a lot more popular than many of your other choices
Cassandra - I just can never get past the prophet of doom thing. Cassia is so much nicer in my view
Naomi - nice
Kiera - again dated. Ciara is a nicer spelling
Layla - ok

Lara wins hands-down for me. Naomi second.
Ciara or Cassia would be up there as well.

Cassandra - ok, I like Cassie - Cassia is less tragic though

Lara - nice but so many Lola/Luna/Leila/Leah/Lyra/Lena/Lila names - it’s all very Lala blahblah

Kiera - ok

Kimberly - it’s very dated 80s but Kim is nice so ok

Melody - no because she’ll end up being called Mel

Layla - Lara is nicer

Melody - she'll be Mel. Elodie is popular, so she'll probably get called that
Kimberly - seems dated. I prefer Kim
Lara - Lots of L names currently popular
Ruby - ok
Cassandra - the best from your list
Naomi - too many different ways people say it
Kiera - too Knightley
Layla - not keen.

Melody and Kimberly have a 90s vibe to me - I used to read American high school stories featuring characters with these types of names.
Kiera and Lara - not really a fan, very average names, a bit drab imo.
Naomi - I don't like this, never have. It's awkward to say and there are too many vowels 😂
Ruby - I do like this, it's a sweet name.
Layla and Cassandra - my favourites from the list. I don't know why they aren't more popular tbh as I feel they have a lot of the features of more popular names. I think if I had to pick one I'd go for Cassandra.

Naomi is often pronounced Gnome y around here which isn't great.

Melody is nice but she'd be Mel.

Melody - I like it in theory, it sounds pretty, but I'm not sure I'd want to be called Melody. I feel like it would only suit certain people

Kimberly - in some ways it feels very dated, but it's actually quite refreshing compared to all the Lily', Rosie's, Ivy's etc

Lara - I like it alot

Ruby - pretty though apparently really popular though I don't know any

Cassandra - not a fan

Naomi - love it, along with Lara this is my favourite from your list

Kiera - nice enough

Layla - so bored of this name
