Linden

DP says it's girlie...I say not. It's one of his family names, and uncle, and we haven't used his family yet. He has no other suggestions yet, which is the really frustrating bit.

My choice for DS2, brother for Vincent (known as Vin/Vinnie)

Probably to be known as Den or Denny in daily use. Full name Linden George [SturdyEnglishSurname]

Depending on what he looks like of course, if it fits him.

I know a Lynden - she's 60-something.

IndiaMay · 27/07/2020 21:31

My first thought was Linden Homes!

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 17/07/2020 13:04

This is a zombie thread from 2008. Baby Linden is now 12.

MikeUniformMike · 17/07/2020 12:40

Call him Dennis. Much nicer.

EuphieKat · 17/07/2020 01:37

I know at least 5 blokes called Lyndon (South Wales- it’s pretty common here in people over about 40) but haven’t come across Linden. I don’t think the spelling is girlie but I would used Lyndon instead.

MintyMurray17 · 16/07/2020 19:39

Love it! A strong, handsome name. Not at all girlie.

Cindie943811A · 16/07/2020 15:34

I’ve never met a female Linden and it doesn’t sound at all girlie. I prefer Linden to Lyndon because of the association with the tree. Very now to have nature associated names.

Danniiaddy · 16/07/2020 13:42

I know a very blokey Lyndon. Male version is spelt this way not Linden.

Broodymumof2 · 29/01/2008 11:24

Also nothing chavvy about it whatsoever...i would say a strong boys name more than anything.

Broodymumof2 · 29/01/2008 11:21

Just wanted to add i think linden is a strong and handsome name. My dp was friends with a linden who sadly met an untimely end to his life in a tragic accident...but everytime i hear the name makes me think of a great strong person who was a total rock star and very missed.

MamaG · 29/01/2008 10:20

i dont like it

it is girly

e14mum · 29/01/2008 10:18

I like it a lot mb. I did know a Lyndon and always thought it was an unusual and nice name. Linden goes well with Vincent too.

Madlentileater · 28/01/2008 18:07

absolutely fab name esp as is name of tree and not meaning 'mighty in battle' or similar...boys called Linden love football, dinosaurs, computer games, mud, hamsters, .....well mine does anyway!- deffo not chavvy.

HonoriaGlossop · 28/01/2008 18:07

I am loving Crippen

ROFL

Fully expect to hear that shouted out round town soon

jo25 · 28/01/2008 17:34

I know a lynden and he is gorgeous, intelligent, charming and funny. But then he is my son! He is not chavvy or girlie!

merryberry · 28/01/2008 17:27

laugh well yes dp would have loved the soprano thing i'd have thought. and i suppose the crim thing reminds me fondly of my black market east end family very nicely...

looked up it's stats, it is deffo a boys name, named for the tree. can't see it ever used for a girl..

mind you i'm a woman called franky, not short for anything, so the pain barrier is set high for me...

Lyndon is a boys name, not Linden.

CountessDracula · 28/01/2008 17:04

Isn't it a make of stairgate?

DarthVader · 28/01/2008 17:04

I know several Lyndons - all are black and male. I don't think it is a girlie name.
