Thoughts on this name please!

Hey,

We’re thinking of calling our girl River and our second name is Robertson. We love the name River but aren’t 100% sure yet about ‘River Robertson’.

Any thoughts appreciated!

I can't stand these nature names like River, Willow, Sky etc so it's a no from me. Just couldn't look at a tiny baby and think oh yes she looks like a River.

I love River - in my mind it works for girls and boys. It makes me think of a child who is wild and free and very natural. It's a name that works for adulthood (maybe even more than babyhood / childhood). It's in the category with names like Willow - quite ethereal.

It's a cool name rather than a more traditional name so will always attract some people who don't like it, but if you can accept that and you love it then I would say go for it.

River Robertson definitely sounds cool to me!

I adore the name River and if id have been brave enough and had sole say in the name of our kid, this would have been a top runner.

River Robertson actually sounds very nice!

I would honestly expect a boy, though. It's very trendy now for boys and I think it will be very popular soon.

I really like it. I find a lot of people on here like "classic names" but I really like River. I considered it for my daughter but we've gone with Remi!
