I came to say the same thing. Unless the surname is also one syllable in which case, don't.

I don’t think so - the Rose/Grace/May thing has become such a cliche.. Pearl/Hope/Fern seem to be the new variants on this.

I think something 2 syllable, but quite soft and slow to anchor the delicate Ottilie

Ottilie Mabel is really nice

Or

Ottilie Frances
Ottilie Katharine
Ottilie Charlotte
Ottilie Constance
Ottilie Margaret / Margot
Ottilie Beatrix
Ottilie Sarah

I think consonants sound best for contrast, but also quite like Ottilie Edith

IStandWithMaya · 28/10/2022 20:14

Ottilie Grace
Ottilie Skye
Ottilie Faith
Ottilie Rose
Ottilie Maeve
Ottilie Brooke

I don't have a middle name and have never missed not having one! I don't see the point of them...

RosieCockle · 28/10/2022 07:45

What's the point of a middle name?

I agree I'm confused at how 'important' it is and then people go for a very generic nothingy name! In this case Mabel is a family name so for me there is a lovely reason for having one

Ottilie Matilda (Tilly Tilly)
Ottilie Clemintine (Too T heavy and sounds awkward to say.
Ottilie Alba is probably has the best flow but it's too vowelly for me.

Ottilie Ray
Ottilie Wren

Ottilie Maeve.
Ottilie Rhiannon.

Maybe a family name or a favourite flower or a heroine or character you love? Or something you love but that felt too much in the first name spot?

Theoldwoman · 27/10/2022 09:05

I would go with a strong name, as Ottilie is quite dainty and pretty.

Ottilie Jane
Ottilie Genevieve
Ottilie Kate
Ottilie Clare
