Yay or not? I knew 2 Tessas at school both super confident and I always thought they had the coolest name. Short, simple, easy to pronounce. Slightly harsh sound but that's the same with Ceciliy, Siciliy, Catherine, all names I like.

What connotations does Tessa have for you?

Not that keen on Tess but love Tess.

it was on our girls name list (we had a boy) but have since decided, personally, that it is a better dog name. Still like it for girl or girl dog.

Tezza1 · 21/10/2022 19:18

It is a nickname for my full name, and my mum was the only person who called me Tess, so for me it has very fond memories. Everyone else calls me either my full name or a different nickname that was my early childhood name, and only is only used by my family, and I no longer like it.

The only tess I’ve ever known (her full name was Theresa) was incredibly whiny (grown adult, not child btw!)

how about Thérèse to give her the option of a full name and Tess nn? I think that’s a pretty name. I don’t particularly like Tessa though but Tess is ok.

midsomermurderess · 21/10/2022 16:43

A bit of tragic character? That’s an understatement right there.

junebirthdaygirl · 21/10/2022 11:41

Tessa is lovely but Tess is even nicer..
And it's ten ton Tessie!!

SquigglePigs · 21/10/2022 11:18

I love it!

Biotics2 · 21/10/2022 11:16

It’s Tess not Tessa of the D’Urbervilles.

iammother · 21/10/2022 11:13

Just simple Tess. It's beautiful.

CourtneeLuv · 21/10/2022 09:22

Ten Ton Tessa. I wouldn't.

MissedItByThisMuch · 21/10/2022 09:20

I think it’s a “sweet spot” name - easy to spell and pronounce, nice sound, classic but not too popular, works on all ages, could be 5 or 50. Love it.

puddingandsun · 21/10/2022 09:17

will not remember*

puddingandsun · 21/10/2022 09:14

I love it.

Reminds of a TV series called Suburgatory, which most people want probably remember, but the main character was called that and she was v cool.

Ship · 21/10/2022 09:09

I like it and tesni

Sandysandwich · 21/10/2022 09:08

I really like Tessa, I knew one from school who was Tessie as a small child, Tessa as a teen and then mostly Tess as an adult. Its a really nice adaptable name

CaffiSaliMali · 21/10/2022 09:02

I like Tess and Tessa.

I have Tesni on my list. It's a Welsh name pronounced Tess-nee which means 'the warmth from the sun'. I'd use Tess or Tessa as a nickname.

Y7drama · 21/10/2022 08:55

I know one Tessa and she’s lovely.

Eurydice84 · 21/10/2022 08:54

It reminds me of Tessa of the D'Ubervilles, who is a bit of a tragic character...

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 21/10/2022 08:54

Nice name. No need to shorten, but if you do still nice.
i wouldn’t mind being called Tessa, which I think is the ultimate test.

RaininSummer · 21/10/2022 08:52

Would not

RaininSummer · 21/10/2022 08:52

It's a great name and I would think of Tesla at all.

Rainbowqueeen · 21/10/2022 08:50

Absolutely love it. Very underused

Go for it

nelliebear8 · 21/10/2022 08:45

It’s very pretty, much better than Theresa. Tess is cute too.

AlicesAttic · 21/10/2022 08:14

I like it.

I'd put it in the same bracket with Nina and Stella - sassy, confident, to the point.

Also love Tess, although some might say that's a dog's name.

AlwaysFoldingWashing · 21/10/2022 08:09

I think it's lovely. I know one Tessa and she is also a lovely woman

MyPetCrow · 21/10/2022 08:08

I really love it, it's a name I'd be happy to have as an adult but sounds good on a child too. I quite like Tess as a nn.
