Which do you prefer?

I also have a George and a Matilda.

Zara is great. Erin sounds kind of apologetic to me, I don't know why.

JenniferBarkley · 19/10/2022 09:37

I'm Irish and don't see Erin as an Irish name, I'd file it with Shannon. And also, the packet soup thing.

Zara is lovely. As indeed is Tara, which is also a place in Ireland if you're looking for an Irish connection.

(No, I can't quite put my finger on why I like Tara but Erin gives me the ick!)

@Snugglemonkey 😂😂 I am Welsh so like that it's a celtic name. I also have Irish family (but who doesn't 😅) It's a beautiful name.

Zara
I don't like Erin at all, it's very 80's/90's and I don't think it goes as well with your other names.

Erin

Thank you all, most appreciated! Seems Zara is most popular, and I think my fave too.

@DeeDeeDaisy out of interest, as we must have similar tastes, what did you end up calling your DD? You're right about the clothes shop, which my son has too with clothes from ASDA and my daughter Matilda with the book/film. Although powdered soup may be the least appealing of those 😂

It is good powdered soup if that helps 🙂

I really like Erin, but I am Irish and possibly biased.

Zara is a gorgeous name!
Erin is a bit meh and too popular

DeeDeeDaisy · 18/10/2022 19:02

Both were on my list for DD. Never heard of the soup brand but you could also say Zara is a clothes shop...who cares haha!

Leaning towards Zara but I love both

S25 · 18/10/2022 18:53

Zara, gorgoeus!

JamSandle · 18/10/2022 18:48

Erin

Luredbyapomegranate · 18/10/2022 18:23

Zara, Erin is v 90s / dated and a bit low rent.

Zara goes better, but they are both very different to George and Matilda though, which are much more distinguished with long histories.

Yourstory · 18/10/2022 16:11

I like both. I actually think Erin goes better with the sibling names but she will be a person of her own one day so I wouldn't let that sway you.

RuthW · 18/10/2022 16:11

Zara

watermelonwizard · 18/10/2022 16:10

thank you all! I'm loving the soup comments - I never knew! 😂

both gorgeous names.

Spanielsarepainless · 18/10/2022 15:56

Zara.

pimlicoanna · 18/10/2022 15:55

I much prefer Erin

Iguanainanigloo · 18/10/2022 15:51

Zara! Erin, just doesn't have a nice sound to me. Plus I know a.... "difficult", not very nice 7 year old madam with that name, so probably tainted my view on it slightly!

mathanxiety · 18/10/2022 15:48

Zara goes much better with George and Matilda.

Erin is a brand of soup.

Nap1983 · 18/10/2022 15:47

I really like them both!

Anon778833 · 18/10/2022 15:46

Zara

lennylion · 18/10/2022 15:45

Zara.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 18/10/2022 15:45

Zara

There are Erins all over the place

TeenDivided · 18/10/2022 15:45

Both nice.
Anything ordered alphabetically by first name a Zara will always be last unless there is a Zebedee, Zian or Zoe in the group.
