My daughter has 4 Sophia’s in her class alone.

Also Rueben seems to be the most common boys name.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Ganymedemoon · 14/10/2022 22:16

Oh and Lilly. Not sure how I forgot that one and there are dozens of them in the top years at primary, not so many in reception though.

YukoandHiro · 14/10/2022 22:16

Imogen. We know five locally all in the same school year as my DD.

Ganymedemoon · 14/10/2022 22:14

I would say Emily, Olivia and Oliver

FreshCop · 14/10/2022 22:14

I was so close to calling my daughter Sophia, we changed our minds days before she was born.

She just suits her name now but went for Sophia as a middle name.

I love Teddy, but I know lots of people say it’s not a real name, maybe officially Theodore then I can call him Teddy 😂

Teddy
Ava
Primrose
Lila (various spellings)
Ronnie
Theo

That’s really interesting, I’ve never known a child with any of those names in my 3 kids schools, or my brownie groups. Where do you live?

keeprunning55 · 14/10/2022 22:11

sorry -szymon. Polish

ColourMeExhausted · 14/10/2022 22:06

Sxymon? Is that...Simon??

ColourMeExhausted · 14/10/2022 22:05

Isaac! So many Isaacs. Sophia very popular too. We were going to call DD that but glad we didn't, it's a beautiful name but definitely having a moment right now.

keeprunning55 · 14/10/2022 22:03

Alex
James
Bluebell
Sxymon

ImissyouBR1 · 14/10/2022 22:00

I adore the name Max. I regret not calling DS that name.

Robotcustard · 14/10/2022 21:59

Amelia, Olivia and Harry seem to be most popular

ImissyouBR1 · 14/10/2022 21:59

Luna and Nova?? Like Vauxhall Nova??

🤣 oh my.....

I know some cockapoos called Luna! Very cute

WimbyAce · 14/10/2022 21:58

Olivia and Max.

NoGoodUsernamee · 14/10/2022 21:56

So if you have a child with one of the popular names it’s lovey and lots of people like it!

if you don’t then you’re unique and picked something others hadn’t considered!

Win win! 😀

Mariposista · 14/10/2022 21:54

FreshCop · 14/10/2022 19:39

There was a short phase of lots of Nova and Luna’s.

I feel like Nova has dated really badly now.

I have only known dogs and cats called Nova and Luna 😂quite pretty names I guess.

Medoca · 14/10/2022 21:54

MarieCondom · 14/10/2022 20:59

Mason? What kind of name is that? There surely can't be multiple Masons in any self-respecting school.

😂Not sure the schools get to pick the names of the children, or even pick children based on their names!

JaggySplinter · 14/10/2022 21:51

Abdulhai/Abdulai is really common in my DC's primary school, there are several in every year.

MsTSwift · 14/10/2022 21:46

When we registered Dd for 6th form as we sat down the teacher said “Evie?”. We said no not her name his response “worth a try every other girl is called that” !

QueenWenceslas · 14/10/2022 21:46

Every other child in DD’s year is a Jacob. 10% of the whole year group are Jacobs.

Other duplicated names are
Freya
Kai
Charlie
Archie
Isla
Orla

TheSmallestOneWasMadeline · 14/10/2022 21:45

Crazy how different these names are to the popular ones when I was at school (90s/00s). Not an Evie or an Arlo in sight but most of the boys were either Ben, Chris, Tom, Alex or Josh. I know at least 10 of each. Girls were Sophie, Amy, Becky/Becca, Ellie or Emma.

My Dad is in his late 50s and I swear most of his friends are either Dave or Mike!

Zizou04 · 14/10/2022 21:45

I forgot Lily! Bloody loads of them! 😂

puddingandsun · 14/10/2022 21:45

Interesting thread.

A lot of variations depending on area + different years (some primary some secondary school aged?)

Primary (year 1) here:

Freddie x 4
Albie x 3
Archie x 2
Sophia x 2
Evie x 2
Ava x 2
Something-Rose x a few

(And many mums called Leanne, Laura or Lauren.)

Zizou04 · 14/10/2022 21:44
