My daughter has 4 Sophia’s in her class alone.

Also Rueben seems to be the most common boys name.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Ds is 16. I remember from primary there were lots of J names. Jack, Joshua, James etc. The various forms of Caiden were popular. Girls names were Emily and Olivia. There were a few Maddisons and Darcies which you don't see so much now.

DD has 7/15 girls in her class with names that both start and end in A. All are different but it is confusing.

There are lots of Ruby and Phoebe at her school in upper primary.

There are 4 people at my work (in London) who have an Ada between 1-10. And one in my NCT group as well (outside London). Surprisingly popular. I only know one Olivia and two Olivers.

You don’t really come up with any random presumptions with most of these names.

Actually you do: they're overused and require the need for a surname initial or other adjective to identify themselves!

FreshCop · 16/10/2022 18:55

Most of these names are lovely and “inoffensive” aren’t they, I get what people mean now by picking a name that doesn’t hold your kids back.

You don’t really come up with any random presumptions with most of these names. They just get a pass.

And Grace. Was v popular when Child 1 was born. I love the name but knew it was popular so used as middle instead. Haven't seen Child 2s name mentioned yet.

WimbyAce · 16/10/2022 08:56

Also Chloe and Mia.

Smilelesstalkmore · 15/10/2022 21:05

Its probably still Jack - there's tonnes of them! Jack <insert initial here>.

FreshCop · 15/10/2022 21:02

All the names are basically the same ones then 😂

Bodhi is definitely rising, which makes it’s meaning less profound than when I initially heard it.

It’s one of those that are cool when still rarely heard IMO.

I don’t know any children called David. It will be very sad if we run out of Dave’s

Plenty David's in the primary school I work in.

DS1s best friend is David (age 11) and we have a David in Reception at the school I work at. We have a Richard in that class too!

17caterpillars1mouse · 15/10/2022 18:28

Dominic and Arthur for boys I think, so many Dominic's.

Emily, Emilia, Julia and Natalia for girls

Large polish population in the school

FirstFallopians · 15/10/2022 18:23

Every variation of Eve/Evie/Eva/Ava/Aoife, plus Sophie, Sophia and Olivia. Might as well have given their kids a serial number as their names do nothing to identify them.

Although my own ds is called William, so I obviously learnt nothing 😂

MurderOfBirds · 15/10/2022 17:59

In my DC's school I'm aware of 3 or more of the following:
Archie
Harry
Harley
Jack
Amelia
Olivia

Cuddlywuddlies · 15/10/2022 17:49

We’re in Ireland so it may be different
but Lily is probably the most popular girls name. Conor or jack for the boys.

Bid876 · 15/10/2022 17:45

Can I have where about your located @Abraxan ?

Bostonbullsmumma · 15/10/2022 17:31

Frankie- 3 boys called Frankie and one Frank and 2 girls called Frankie!

MsAnnThropic · 15/10/2022 17:06

Theo
Oliver

Sophia
Amelia

Lilacsunflowers · 15/10/2022 17:05

*Names go in cycles. I think the cutsie 'ie' names are at the end of their cycle now.

They will date horribly, too, IMO.*

Alfie, Archie, Ellie, Evie etc already sound dated and way overused.

Lilacsunflowers · 15/10/2022 17:04

Shout out to all those parents punching the air when they realise none of their childrens' names have featured so far 😂

It's quite easy to avoid these fashionable names by choosing names outside the top 500.

My dc's names are given about 30 - 50 times per year, so fairly unusual.

downtonupton · 15/10/2022 17:01

Zac/Zack - DS has about 5 in his classes - they're all known by nicknames and surnames
