Reeva or Serena ?

What is your favourite ? I feel reeva is a bit marmite although my husband isn’t the biggest Serena fan … our daughter is Lucia ! All opinions or ideas welcome !!!!

Reeva reminds me of Reeva Steenkamp. I'd never heard of the name before her murder so I hear it and just think of her hiding in terror in the bathroom. Whereas with Oscar it's a more widely known name and my first association isn't 'Pistorius'.

@oviraptor21 is the Steenkamp association a bad thing? Why should her lovely name not be given to new lives just because she was murdered by a trigger-happy abusive twat of a man? Her name doesn’t deserve to be erased.

I couldn’t agree more. I think one of the reasons I love the name Reeva is because of how beautiful Reeva Steenkamp was. This beautiful name should continue on.

What about Rayva/Raeva? It’s an Indian name - means ‘ravishing’ (ly beautiful 🤩)

Reeva is awful. I do think of that poor girl who was murdered, but also just think it’s ugly, meaningless, faddy, and generally not a patch on the beautiful and distinguished Lucia.
