I really like Jeffrey, H wants Daniel

I don't partially like Daniel because of 'Danny boy' thing. Not great.

I love the meaning behind the name Jeffrey and think Jeff is a cool nickname whilst still being classic

Our other son is Vincent. DD is Athena. But they will be 18 and 22 years older than this baby Smile

Daniel. Great name. Not overused.

Jeffrey is 75 and wears slippers. it’s too early for babies called Jeff, it’s still a comedy pet goldfish name. In 15 years it might revive. Back away for now. Even the idea of a baby called Jeff is making me laugh.

Oh no sorry but Jeffery instantaneously takes me to Dahmer or Epstein!!

Daniel, whilst a classic is rather boring imho. I’m sure there are more names you could talk through with your other half as your other children have great names!!

No, in all seriousness though, it is surely too generic a name to be automatically connected with Dahmer?

Just as Thomas the Tank... I know loads of toms and Thomas. They were never in receipt of any 'oh like Thomas the tank engine?' Comments, even when it was ridiculously popular and probably No.1 on telly for little kids

I like Jeffrey but spelt Geoffrey. Don’t agree it’s an old man name at all.

Jeffrey makes me think of horrible evil men right now, that may wane over the coming years but they certainly haven't covered themselves in glory in recent times.

I've always liked Daniel. Jeffrey is dated and makes me think of Dahmer, unfortunately.

I thought Daniel meant "God is my judge" with the "El" part referring to God in Hebrew.

Daniel is lovely, Jeffrey is horrible as is Jeff. Go for Daniel its a timeless name.

I'm a huge Jeffrey fan. If I was to ever have another child it would be a very strong contender for a boy. I love it.

I like Daniel too but only Daniel, not a fan of Danny or Dan at all so would not consider due to that as I couldn't control what others call him

I think Jeffrey is a great name! In our school we’ve had a Brian, a Barry and a Denis recently so Jeffrey is sure to be next!

loads! I prefer Daniel,
Jeffery is horrible, Jeff is even worse.

Jeffrey belongs with Barry, Brian, and Nigel in a category of names that should never be given to an innocent baby.

There were 3 Jeffreys in my primary school class (early 80s).

Jeff could sit with Kit/Jem/Finn and those outdoorsy modern nicknames but Geoff will forever be stuck with Terry/Ray/Roy in the pub snug in my head. weird.

Jeffrey means 'God's peace' and I think that's absolutely lovely ☺️

Daniel means 'to judge'!

I love a name with a great meaning

I prefer Daniel. But those aren’t the only two names, and if neither of you like the other, then I’d scrap both and start again. The Kinder app is great for if you are struggling to agree on names
