Kit would be an excellent contrast to the longer and more elaborate (in a good way) girls’ names. I might plump for Christopher as ‘real’ name though, not sure why.

@Letterasaurus why do people fixate on Ophelia's tragic ending as if that somehow prevents you from using the name? Yes I have both read and seen Hamlet. I'm an English Literature graduate in fact. And I still named my daughter Ophelia.

No one bats an eyelid if you name your daughter Juliet or Tess (of the Durbervilles) or Emma (Bovary) or Beth (March).

Bad things happen to women in pretty much every piece of literature, film or art so it would mean a whole lot of names being rendered unusable!
